Posted by: Eric Blair at August 1, 2010 2:59 PMGreat video. And it couldn't be more timely. Thomas Sowell wrote several months ago that the biggest thing Republicans could do to begin winning back the black population is to break teacher's unions and truly prioritize improving education in lower income urban sectors. Given the gulf between what the left has promised and what they have delivered, now is the time. I wait for some of our political leaders to pick up the torch.
Posted by: GW at August 1, 2010 3:16 PMIt has been obvious to me for years that the Democratic Party, and it's porch-poodles (trying to be nice here), the Sharptons, the Jacksons, the Rangles, and yes the Obamas - have nothing but fear for powerful and free-thinking black people. They want black people who are docile and dependant, and vote Democrat in droves because the buy into the lie that the Democrats use to control them - that the Republicans and the Conservatives and the Tea Party are racists because they don't spout the smarmy condescending baby-talk the Dems have gotten blacks used to. No, we are not racists - we are free men, and when you finally take your freedom too, we will welcome you as equals.
Black people are free to do anything white people or yellow people are - they just need to stand up, tell their porch-poodles to shut up, and do it for themselves.
Until they do, the Democrats will use them to push their agenda of enslaving everyone to the power of the state.
Posted by: sherlock at August 1, 2010 3:28 PMHaving 95% of the black vote is a double-edged sword; if the democrats lose even half of that vote will never win another election.
The democrats can't keep blacks on the welfare/food stamps plantation forever!
It was very difficult to wake from the dependent mindset my union-addled, reflexively democratic parents had taught. I had to redefine everything about myself and my life. Now, twenty years on, the only pain is dealing with the part of the family that still wears the blinders.
I cannot imagine what the awakening must be like for a black previously trapped by street culture and entitlement seeking. Newly immersed in a sea of opportunity and responsibility, they need support and friendship. It won't be easy for some of us to reach out across the cultural divide, but the rewards are many.
Thankfully lots of us are used to making fools of ourselves testifying to the power and redemption of the cross. Here's another chance to put it all out there for a glorious cause!

Posted by: Joan of Argghh! at August 1, 2010 7:58 PMSimply powerful and timely.
Sending the link on.
The truth, and it might set some of us free.
To Joan's point: Yoink is good most any time.

Absolutely hair-raisingly awesome.
Posted by: apotheosis at August 2, 2010 7:21 AMWhat a great way to wake up in the morning. I hope every high school student in America sees this. God bless them in their efforts.
Posted by: Hannon at August 2, 2010 9:58 AMThe great difference between the present and the era of slavery is that now black people are responsible for their conditions.
Posted by: james wilson at August 2, 2010 10:42 AMNothing so vividly illustrates that Plato's allegory of the cave still penetrates the human condition, so I posted, "Out of Shadowland."
Posted by: Donald Sensing at August 2, 2010 11:32 AMThat was a fantastic tie-in, Mr. Sensing.
It also explains (again) why the "Progressives" fear the teaching of history, and the study of the Greats.
