Ain't it just like the Left to play tricks when you're tryin' not to riot?
We sit here stranded though we're all doin' our best to deny it
.
The Dems claim a mandate for change, temptin' you to defy it
.
Hope blossoms on the opposite side
.
In our camps the flamewars abide
.
The talk radio station plays nice,
But it's got nothing, really nothing, to entice.
Just Limbaugh and Hannity so entwined
,
And these visions of Obama that conquer my mind....
In our empty treasury the pols play blindman's bluff with the supply chain
And the leftoid bloggers they whisper of escapades on the Palin Campaign
We can hear Abe Lincoln slap his forehead
Ask himself if it's him or us that's really insane
Neoneocon, she's all right, she's stayed clear
She's delicate as she posts to the 'sphere
But she just makes it all too concise and too clear
That Obama's not here
The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the comments at her blog
Where these visions of Obama have come up from the bog
Now, little boy Ace, he takes himself so seriously
He slags Andrew Sullivan, he likes to post dangerously
And when bringing O's name up
He speaks of a farewell finger to thee
He's sure got a lotta gall to be so scrappy and all
Hosting open thread squawks for recall while America's at the mall
Oh, how can I explain?
It's so hard to rant on
And these visions of Obama, they kept me up past the dawn
Contemplatin' congress, your sanity goes up on trial
Voices blather this is what lobotomy must be like after a while
But Pelosi musta had the Biden Botox blues
You can tell by the way she smiles
See the Little Green Footballs all freeze
When the jelly-faced Kossacks all sleaze
Hear the ones with dementia say, "Jeeze
Find us more killers to appease."
Oh, tax-hikes and deficits swarm in our new head of state
Where these visions of Obama are not up for debate.
This blogger now speaks to the Anchoress who's trying hard to pray for him
Sayin', "Name me a politician who's not a parasite and I'll go out and I'll campaign for him"
But like Michelle always says
"Can't find a decent Dem much, can ya man?"
As she, herself, prepares to napalm them
And the real Messiah, He still has not showed
We see the Cross we emptied now corrode
Where Liberty and belief once had glowed
Mr. Death, he now steps to the road
He writes they're coming for more money than they're owed
On the back of the Jihad truck that loads
While the next 9/11 explodes
The harmonicas play high fading blues for John McCain
And these visions of Obama are now all that remain.

I thought I was depressed after reading Mark Steyn.
I wish I drank.
Posted by: Cathy at November 8, 2008 6:05 PMMy buddy Dave stopped by to chat this evening.
He observed that you can tell a lot about how an election went by how many people are buying guns.
SRO at my favorite gun store today. Reloading components for metallic cartridges have doubled in price since summer.
I contributed to my retirement plan. About five hundred rounds; it will not be so easy to confiscate as what is left in my 401(K). The two folks in front of me at the register never owned a firearm in their life. One was buying a .22 rifle and pump 12 gauge. He had his kids with him. The other was buying a recycled Sig 9mm and three different varieties of ammo for it. He asked my opinion on long term storage* for ammo.
I'm going to hit the Left's Most Hated Retailer tomorrow morning for another bulk box of 12 gauge shells myself. Maybe a box of 16, too; I don't own one, but barter goods never hurt.
It was quiet in the store, for all the people there were.
* GI ammo cans. You can find them at surplus stores and gun shows. Don't buy them if they are badly dented or have flaking rust. If they have surface rust, hit the bad spots with crocus cloth and/or paint them over with Rustoleum (tm) spray paint. Make sure the rubber seal on the lid is good. Put a table spoon of clay cat litter inside cloth bag or a pouch made from a segment of discarded nylon stocking inside with the ammo to be stored and you are good for years.

I drink.
It's not doing any good.
Posted by: rickl at November 10, 2008 4:57 PMIt could take me a while to forgive you for this, Gerard. Not to mention quite a bit of alcohol.
(My sympathies, Cathy.)

Nice.

Nice post.
Nice.
We are the underground now.
"And it's alright, Ma".
Anyone got any acquaintances who used to run guns from the USA to the IRA?
Strange how things sometimes work out. Maybe the people who were fighting against the UK government will soon be doing it again - this time against our Muslim overlords.
I once read a story set in the 2030s or so, in which was mentioned the British Liberation Front. I thought it was over the top then. I don't now.
