Serial mouthbreather Naomi Wolf has published in the fittingly obscure Guatamala News an emission that Michelle Obama is the new Lady Di.
If this is the case, Don Surber cautions the new First Lady to avoid tunnels in Paris. For my part, I'm wondering who gets to be Camilla Parker Bowles? Nancy Pelosi? Barney Frank?
Posted by Vanderleun at March 5, 2009 4:20 PM | TrackBackI don't know if "the new Lady Di" is an apt comparison. Perhaps the love child of James Brown and Sasquatch.
Posted by: Gagdad Bob at March 5, 2009 5:50 PMSo, what Michelle Obama is doing is not trivial. It was not an earth-shattering policy revelation when she astutely followed reports of Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe by remarking casually on a late-night talk show that she was wearing a chain-store brand, and that "you can get lots of cute things online." But it was nonetheless a powerful statement, especially to women, that said: I am not Nancy Reagan, dressed in Galliano, living in a gated community; I am not Mrs. Clinton, disregarding such things because I must argue major cases or run states; I am you - busy, on a budget, overworked, shrewd, cute, clever, finding a way.
Overworked?
Her experience as a diversity coordinator didn't prepare her adequately for first nasty ass bimbo in chief?
shrew[ish]d?
Cute?
Like a stomach pump.
Clever?
Yeah- a regular Dorothy Parker if evah dere wuz won.
Finding a way?
To find an opportunity for a cheap shot at Sarah Palin, a woman who has more brains, class, and ability in her little finger than Naomi Wolfe, and the she-rag put together.
Buy the bitch a GPS. She couln't find a way to stand in the shadow of a Sarah Palin if you painted an arrow on the sidewalk.
And finally: I am not Nancy Reagan
No. You are most certainly not. Nor could you hope to be in a dozen lifetimes. Nancy Reagan was solid oak; Michele Obama is contact paper veneer over particle board.
/snark.

Posted by: Webutante at March 5, 2009 6:30 PMOh, thanks for putting that image in my brain.
Posted by: vanderleun at March 5, 2009 6:48 PMThe next Camilla? Cynthia McKinney.
Posted by: Connecticut Yankee at March 5, 2009 8:37 PMNo way. She creeps me out. She looks way too much like Jane Fonda for my taste.
