More Obama I Say. MORE O!-BA!-MA!

Anything to make the kids laugh:

"I asked the Insta-Daughter how it went off in her class and she responded, 'My class was laughing ... which really upset Mrs. _____, because she thought it was a great speech.'"

I LOVE the bonus SWPL picture: an urban downtown suitable for walking, a pedicab, an Asian chick, an ethnic newsie, a transvestite hooker, some androgenous person reading a trendy magazine, and an Obamacized version of one the lamest musicals ever. It's BO-BO heaven!

Phil's post is his version of "pick your target."

I used to read his posts until he went overboard on Bush and the politicization of science.

Now that Obama's in and doing the same thing, that's all right to Phil, so he needs a different schtick.

Yes, more please.

More Obama, lots of Obama, a plethora of Obama. Total, unceasing Obama saturation leaking out of every media orifice until our eyeballs bleed and the grey matter dribbles from our ears.

The citizen's will be more than ready to throw his skinny leftist ass out without second thought for gauchely committing the capital American sin of boring them to death.

Bring it on, indeed.

Obviously you did not read Phil's rant. His point that lunatic fringes get too large a share of voice, drowning the real debate.

Lunatic fringes... such as those who compare Obama to Hitler.

You wouldn't be one of them, right? Because you learned some history at school for example?

On the other hand, judging by your reading skills....

So what you are saying is that instead of being reasonable, listening to the oppositions argument we should just assume they are the stereotype we've got built in our heads.

So if I said you are an insane, overly-patriotic, close minded, uneducated bigot I would be right. Just like how you would say the same about me.

You should really re-think how you are acting. When people that are opposing the President claim that his goal of PROVIDING HEALTH CARE to millions of people is the same as COMMITTING GENOCIDE it takes away from the argument against health care.

When Obama planned to speak to school children, members of the GOP were comparing him to Kim Jong Il and Saddam Hussien! That is insanely disrespectful and ignorant, instead of taking a moment to look at the facts and voicing their concern in an adult manner its mud slinging and name calling.

Thank you for carrying the Phil message all the way over here.

Did I say "PROVIDING HEALTH CARE to millions of people is the same as COMMITTING GENOCIDE" ? I think not. Please look around in the archives. I provide a search service on the home page.

Was I "comparing [Obama] to Kim Jong Il and Saddam Hussien!" Same reference to search this blog service on home page.

You also cite "members of the GOP" doing this. Prominent members or just rank and file? Seems to me I recall many members of the Democrat doing similar things to GWB -- as well as much, much, much worse across many years.

In addition, please do not assume I am a Republican. I'm not.

As to "voicing their concern in an adult manner its mud slinging and name calling" why yes there was a log of mud slinging and name calling.... there always is.... especially when the "original plan" for the address was put out -- one the administration had to back rapidly and far away from.

It seems to me that those that love the address and the idea of it are always taking shelter in the address as ultimately delivered and not the address as planned before the firestorm broke. Thus we have one side saying, "Hey, look at it. It's not bad at all." vs the other side that was in on the issue much, much earlier and saw what a gross manipulation of kids it was intended to be.

Without reference to the origins of this issue you cannot understand or argue the result.

Clark, lacking reading skills both here and at Phil's say: "Obviously you did not read Phil's rant. His point that lunatic fringes get too large a share of voice, drowning the real debate.

Judging by yøur reading skills you cannot read at all so it is little wonder that your writing suffers. If you can bear to scroll to the top of this post you'll see the link to the original post right there. It's the one that's in a different clolor... it's just above the original quote from the page. And if you'll follow that link you will find some comments by me in the 360 comment flame war that followed.

And, yes, I have read Phil's "Guilty with an Explanation" followup post today and left a comment there which says, in sum, "Sorry, not sold."

As to the contention that "Lunactic fringes" drown out debate, Phil does not have "fringes" in mind, but just one "fringe" that's to the right of him. He can't see his own lunatic fringe.

"As far as I am concerned, this is not civics education — it gives the appearance of creating a cult of personality," said state Sen. Steve Russell of Oklahoma, a Republican. "This is something you'd expect to see in North Korea or in Saddam Hussein's Iraq."

Steve Russell - Oklahoma State Senator; compares our President to two Fascist dictators. Source the AP.

Your oblivious to the fact that their are prominent remembers of our Government that use scare tactics like Steve Russell's to further their own agenda. I am young and naive and think the Government should work for the people instead of against them. I would love to see reform in all sorts of industries and see a shake down on wasteful Government spending. Can we achieve this by bickering and name calling? Can we achieve this with condescending remarks about "more Obama" or assuming anyone who disagrees with a view point is 100% the opposite. Do you think I go home at night and pray to my alter of Obama? There is a great need for open, intelligent progressive dialogue in this country in order to make sure my future and the future for my generation is secure. You try to lure me out with my 'lack of reading skills,' yes you are so right, because I don't read your blog on a daily basis I must be highly misinformed! You are just the same as everyone else that has squandered the potential of this country. Continue with your rhetoric and see how it works out for you.

Clark,

here is what happened after one school watched the obama school video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt6JWzBqLWs

appalling, don't you think?

Posted by cjm at September 10, 2009 6:22 PM

No, I don't think that's appalling. I think it's amazing that our President has inspired this kids to pay attention to politics and to do more with their lives. Why is it so wrong for the President to inspire people in their lives?

Our President knows he is in a unique roll within the African American community. He is a high profile positive roll model, is this a bad thing? Is it really that terrible that children growing up in low income areas have someone positive to look up too? Do you think they should just stay stereotypes and wish to become this some day?

Our new property has 18ft ceilings in a single room which has a 2000 built in entertainment area. We pulled that out and had a custom "wine wall" built outside of mohagany and considered one of these ladders. Holds 600 bottles!! Enjoy IT!!
