Does anyone know if recipients of the Nobel putty medals are notified of the awards before they are announced publicly, to enable them to indicate their unwillingness to accept if they deem it inappropriate - for whatever reason? And in Obama's case one can think of myriad reasons why not - in fact can anyone think of a single reason why it was appropriate?

my understanding is that nominations for the NPP closed 11 days after BHO took office, so it's anyone's guess what the prize is actually being given for - my vote is it's an early Christmas (or would it be ramadan?) gift.

Great leaders understand the essence of timing. Think Kennedy with the Cuban missile blockade, Reagan at the Berlin wall, etc.

A leader must have a sense of timing, of when to rattle swords, and when to take real action. I mean, can you imagine Obambi as POTUS during the Cuban missle crisis, or giving the speech Reagan gave at the Berlin wall?

Now that Obama has been played by the Euro-elites, he is much more likely to equivocate and appease, for peace.

My fear is that he will over-react when confronted by the big boys on the block.

The irony of this so-called award is that Obama may be the biggest threat to world peace.
