CNN: Trusted News Source or Goatf**kers. Stewart Reports, You Decide

Not to be misunderstood as defending CNN’s credibility but this IS Jon Stewart and this IS The Dailey Show on THE Comedy Network. Not exactly at the top of the measuring bar for credibility in news.

Still, he makes a sharp point in this case.

How long has it been since journalism has been about fact checking and balanced views?

Stewart, or rather his staff, is great at taking sound bites out of context to fit his narrative.

Also note that most of his little sketch is mostly against what the Republicans point out regarding government control of health care. Not exactly being fair and balanced, just trying to be funny…and a Liberal...which he is.

Stewart is a fool. He has no concept of the admonition which is be careful what you wish for.

Right.
Stewart is a comedian. And that means he can't have any insight on CNN and its operation:
Ignoring protests.
Fact-checking SNL.
Not following up on the statements of politicians.

Oh - and he didn't give the ultimate smack-down: where Wolf Blitzer got smoked on Jeopardy by Andy Richter. (Which may have led Wolf to show those 'comedians' at SNL who was boss.)

Nothing Stewart said about CNN surprises me - this was the network that admitted it was Saddam Hussein's propaganda arm, and did so to keep access to his regime.
No word on how all other networks and newspapers maintained their access to the Hussein regime - or maintain their access with any of the nasty dictatorial regimes of the world. Nothing other than we are to trust their word that they are principled.

No, I am afraid Stewart did a very good job of pointing out (as Orrin Judd put it) that the clothes of CNN do not have an Emperor.
