I have often fantasized about driving a tank down a main street of a Taliban stronghold village blasting the Clash "Rock the Casbah..." Childish, I know...
It may be simplistic, but you can tell how civilized or barbarous a society is by the way it treats women, children and dogs.
Arguably, our society is heading back to barbarism as it sexualizes children again after a brief hundred or two hundred years of trying to protect them.
But look at the countries that hate dogs. Most of them also treat women and children as chattels.
