Toleration Thy Name is Charles Johnson

I so rarely get to actually see irony pluck upon irony. Thanks for the screen shot.

I have to agree with Arthurstone. Everyone knows now that CJ has become mentally unbalanced. His readership has dropped like an anvil tossed from a Piper Cub. He's fast approaching irrelevancy, having passed even Andrew Sullivan.

Peace, brother, and let it slide.

No no. As an American I reserve the right to assert that anything worth doing is worth overdoing!

Look- It's February. Not a goddamn thing seems to be going right anywhere. Things are as close to totally fucked as they get.

Slagging little green johnson alleviates the misery a little- sort of like kicking the dog only without the dog.

If this is an unhealthy addiction of yours, I'm a willing enabler and want to be one.

Bring on the bunny suit from The Christmas Story next. And after that, sculpt Mein Fuhrer out of marshmallow. Keep on going until you have to put it behind the "That Which Has Been Seen Cannot Be Unseen" kitty-cat, and then go a few steps more.

Until Herr Schickelgruber is carrying around a dog-in-a-purse, I say. The Mighty Lizard Emperor deserves no less.

Oh owweee!

How much satisfaction can there be had by being a despot on the web? 'Tin Horn' seems to be too grand a term to describe such a position.

"Charles hurt you bad but you've got to move on."

I disagree. As long as Charles continues to smear people it makes sense to keep attacking him and portraying him as an unbalanced and fanatical whackjob. There is no reward in politics for passivity and the best thing to do to Alinskyites is to turn the tables and personalize the attack on them.

This place is the "scrubbing bubbles".
And other fine stuff.

"Things are as close to totally fucked as they get."

I beg to differ; this is the calm before the storm. Things are capable of getting a whole lot worse--and they will. Take it from one who figured Obama for a maxist 2 years ago.

Stick with me kid, I'm good.

Posted by ahem at February 24, 2010 5:03 PM

Oh, very well, then. Carry on.

ahem: "Things are as close to totally fucked as they get."

I thought of a story. My dad was drafted 1953-1955 and spent his time in a supply base in France. One of his sergeants was old army - pre WWII enlistment. That sergrant had been through combat in Europe; and though the sergeant was an alcoholic dad said that he and another had resolved that if ever the balloon went up they were going to stay close to this guy. Because he knew how to stay alive.

Dad isn't stupid*; whether any of his children are stupid remains an open question.

*This story and marrying mom are all of the non-stupid credentials he needs.

I would note in my defense that I have shamed Johnson into pulling way, way back on his execrable photographs: The Eternal Banality of the Photography of Charles Foster Johnson @ AMERICAN DIGEST

In this I am a proud, DAMNED proud!, American.

Posted by vanderleun at February 24, 2010 6:39 PM

You may be proud, but you're tottering on being boring. You know what they say in Wyoming: when the horse is dead, dismount.

Posted by Webutante at February 24, 2010 6:52 PM

Not. Dead. Un. Dead. Vampire. Must drive stake into heart. Dismember body. Expose to sunlight. Stir ashes into dung. Shoot resulting mixture into the sun.

Must. Must.

Charles Johnson? Seems like I heard that name somewhere ...

I like to watch, Gerard.

Eric,
Dismount my joke.
Thank you.
