The Gelded Skies: Here's How It's Going to Happen

Gelded Child....ouch. That left a mark.

Yep, this is probably how it will go...

"The Gelded Child".

This is why YOU are the professional and I'm the shmo.

You are right, this scenario is exactly what will happen.

For some bizarre reason he reminds me of the song "I Love The Flower Girl" by The Cowsills.

Dangerous times, folks. Hey, I hear we're getting another stimulus package, though.

I'm sure this has happened to all of us who travel by air... you see some old WASP man or woman getting the full wand and pat-down treatment minus only the cavity search. I'm sure those happen too, but not while the victim is standing in front of 300 other people utterly humiliated. That humiliation happens in private. (This is the one up-side I can think of that my WWII vet dad died at 72 a decade before 9/11. He didn't have to suffer the indignities of the American decline.)

Then, you get to the gate and sit down a few feet away from a sweaty Arab guy who has passed through "security" unscathed. Sick. We're just sick to death and I blame the Left for all of it.

Shortly after 9/11 I proposed an "Arab/Muslim Airline" versus "American" for the rest of us. There's no separation of airline and state in the constitution - right? Now, I realize we'd just be spam in a can. Easy pickings for RPGs or stingers. Gack!

'Generally speaking, things have gone about as far as they can possibly go, when things have gotten about as bad as they can reasonably get.' - Tom Stoppard

Sadly we have not reached the limits of our 'reason' and things will most certainly get worse before they get better. How worse? I don't know, but if I were of Arab extraction or a practicing Muslim I would be quite worried about how bad things might actually get.

Bad enough where the majority, or even just a hyperactive minority, of the population begins to forget, or ignore the restrictions contained in niceties such as the Constitution.

Knock the train off the tracks and there's no telling where it will stop.

Solution: Vote with your $ and don't travel by air.

Your premonition is truly frightening.....well, excpet for the Depens. They might be welcome on a long flight.

Posted by Blastineau at August 31, 2010 12:15 PM

I think you're wrong. I think after the "next time," a lot of large, angry men (and some large, angry women too) armed and conversant with a variety of semi-automatic weapons will collectively decide "there's not going to be a next time."

And American Muslims, rich or poor, innocent or guilty, will wake up to find the Land of Opportunity a very cold, cruel, angry, intolerant, and unforgiving place.

Care to make a bet I'll be right?

Posted by MarkJ at August 31, 2010 12:54 PM

MarkJ: Should that come to pass, I have a feeling that certain prominent Leftist enablers of Islamic terrorism will, if anything, get hit even harder.

Right, but you left out one item - expressed fears and warnings by Progressive and Islamic leaders of an "anti-Islamic backlash."

Posted by Harry at August 31, 2010 2:00 PM

And the myth of a "moderate Islam" will finally be put to rest.

Posted by Blastineau at August 31, 2010 3:54 PM

@ Harry,
"Right, but you left out one item - expressed fears and warnings by Progressive and Islamic leaders of an "anti-Islamic backlash.""

One hell of an assumption that any Proggy mushwit will be left standing to give such tocsins. As for the ragheads, they have to get here in sufficient number to cause a disturbance. Gut check says they'll cower in a sandcastle and hyperventilate.

I remember saying in an e-mail right after 9/11 that, thanks to political correctness, I could foresee that every American would be treated as a potential terrorist by the government, rather than concentrate on profiling Muslims, which anyone with an IQ above room temperature knew was the right thing to do. It gives me no comfort to have been proven correct.

I agree with targeting leftists first after the next atrocity.

Pretty tough talk for such a high brow site.

One day a group of them are going to wake up and realize that there is no need to get to an airplane, that the rest of the country lies open before them, and then we will reap the result of having them here.
