Comments: Nothing so tragic, nothing so solemn, nothing so serious that some morons in America cannot slather with some t-shirt bullshit

I am sure it made the victims' loved ones feel much better about their loss, perhaps made them blame Sarah Palin a bit less and perhaps will boost Sheriff Dupnik's reputation. Free t-shirts and Leftist slogans are universally empowering.

"Nothing so tragic...with some t-shirt bullshit" that the sheep won't throw upon their backs, as if to say "Look at me, I'm mourning, so very, very much...SEE!"

Every f*cking event has to be turned into an industry and a festival by unneeded, useless lefty imbeciles. Have you been to the 9/11 memorial website? Those shits have even hijacked that (and even after 10 years, there's still no new Twin Towers, the only memorial that would have substance). Everything is theater to these morons, a way to cop a meal ticket from grief and disaster while contributing nothing to a solution.

This is why I don't support Shamnesty International. There is nothing more slimy than the human rights industrial complex. Evil and hypocrisy swaying together with the lit Bic held aloft, grooving in moral smugness to Bono and Co. while moshing for Darfur and Tibet and cop killer Abu Jamal whatsisface.

Somewhere, they are bravely staging a die-in on the steps of a courthouse in some free, democratic country. Film at 11. Consciousness-raising. A dirty job, and no one ought to do it.

Jewel,

You've said it perfectly - the ceaseless message of Compassion, Inc. is "Look at MEEEE!!"

It helps to remember that the proper spelling is "Bongo - of Me2."

Who paid for the shirts?

I know that eventually it will come back that the agitprop cadre front that put them out there is wholly funded by my tax dollars, like ACORN (and whatever acronym they are operating under today - on my dime) but which organization put these shirts out?

I've looked. It's a vacuum out there.

The apotheosis of bad taste.

I read that even Obama was taken aback at times at the crowd's apparent inappropriate responses to portions of his speech. By all accounts, he gave one of his better, more sincere and rational speeches, and the crowd's attitude and mood seemed wholly inappropriate to the context of his words and the intended purpose of the memorial gathering.

Mindless, clueless trogs, looking for entertainment.

This reminds me of my sister-i-l & mother-in-law:
There's no situation so bad that their mere appearance, let alone action, can't make worse.

Don Rodrigo,

Ya don't spose this had anything to do with it, do ya?

“We are truly honored to have the leader of our great nation with us here tonight. (cheering) We are obviously saddened by the circumstances that bring President and Mrs. Obama to Tucson. But we are comforted [shout-out] we are comforted by their compassion and we are inspired by their determination to reach out and help. America has been blessed through its glorious history by visionary and committed presidents, who — often at great personal sacrifice, step forward to lead us to better futures and greater hope. Barack Obama assumed the Presidency at a perilous time in our history. We are fortunate to have someone with his intellect, his energy, and his heart, to lead us forward PLEASE WELCOME — [wild cheering starts to build] the PRESIDENT of the United States, Barack Obama.” [Cheering builds to a wild, frenzied crescendo] (from a comment by philmon at Morgan's place.)

Naahh.

"Together We Thrive" is a singularly inappropriate slogan for a memorial service, since, after all, six people are not thriving.

But of course, it was not a memorial service. It was the kickoff event for Obama's 2012 re-election campaign.

And the campaing goes on. He has not stopped campainging since 2006.
Unfortunately for the families and the victims, the killings are just a convenient vehicle for him (the Obama)to hop a free ride upon.
