Not sure what I think about the second song.. sort of like it.. but its more on a primal level..

Couple of thoughts. The first with just FM, Reminds me of the time when liberals were considered harmless and artsy.. they were good to have at a party, to make out with and they made good music... Kind of like a lovable benign pet.

The second song.. They are no longer benign. The pet now thinks it is the master and the pet has teeth...

You know, Bill, that's a very astute observation.

I played them together in sync, (as close as possible) and towards the end, it sounded almost like a 60's street riot in Chicago.

Messing with a classic always makes my skin crawl. Perhaps I'm getting too old, or maybe I just viscerally hate all rap in all its awful incarnations.

I'm with David, only I think the second version is like a steaming mound of dog excrement which fouls the air, tarnishes the view, gets stuck on the bottom of your shoe, ultimately attracts other dogs who inexplicably consume it and thus perpetuate the endless problem, encouraging more crap, adding their own mounds of crap - and we just have to sit there in the middle of it... and call it "art"... or be called racist for not appreciating a rapper boasting about himself, his power, fame and success. Because truthfully, the original "art" is secondary to his ego and to his label's profit.

Did the second guy pay royalties for doing that?

But I wasn't really impressed with Fleetwood Mac the first time around, so I don't care very much.

One can find all sorts of mash-ups on you tube these days though. It's all derivative.

Heck, I think all music is derivative these days.

The rapper should consider calling himself Fleetwood MacDaddy.

Good stuff! I love mash ups. I think it's great that the kids are building on the classics. It's really no different than Pete Townsend and Mick and Keef, and Jimmy Page and Robert Plant riffing off the blues masters. Music always moves into the future. Maybe this will inspire some twentysomething to buy a copy of Rumors and contribute to Mick and Stevie's retirement fund.
