I imagine that the early jazz artists got this sort of reaction. Beethoven certainly did. The first rock and roll artists certainly did.

A common reaction from old fogeys to anything new in the way of music. I try to avoid it, even though I am an old fogey by most standards.

Sure, 95% of today's popular music is crap. Remember Sturgeon's Law. And is Ms. Gaga actually a whore? I doubt it.
