Wonderful indeed! The words may be kind of hokey, but the music and production are great. And, the movie does indeed improve with time.

Always liked that strange little movie. My favorite music in it is from "The Blasters"

Just saw the truly dreadful musical "Rock of Ages" this weekend. Didn't hold a candle to Streets of Fire, arguably the pinnacle of rock movies and video. Of course, I like almost anything with Diane Lane in it...

I haven't seen Streets of Fire, but I did see Festival Express - (2003. Directors: Bob Smeaton, Frank Cvitanovich Stars: Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead and The Band) I'm no rock fan, but that was an excellent movie.

I've never heard of the movie or this song, but thank you for introducing it to me. I like it. I especially like the clarity of the singer. I don't think the words are corny. I know just what it feels like to have the feeling of being 16 and in love again for the first time, even if it is only a one night fantasy.

I do find the 2nd half of the music to be a little frantic. I think I'm past the age of enjoying frantic music, but the beginning makes it worth it.

Bought this as a 45 rpm single back in, oh, 1986 or 1987, back when I was young and foolish. It's disappeared since then, but thank you for reminding me how much I liked it.

That was the closing scene of the movie. You should put up a link, if you have a good one, to the opening scene. "Going Nowhere Fast" by mostly the same performers. The part where Willem Defoe and his gang show up, especially when Defoe's face get's lit up and he orders the attack is electric. One of the best villains ever! But, then, I've always been a sucker for a lot of Jim Steinman's music.

Its a shame that we have become so jaded that songs such as these are either hokey or cliche or supposedly unrealistically naive. But then, Hollyweird today now makes movies of such extreme violence and gore that I feel like I just finished working on an after-crime scene report for the police. No thanks - I'd rather be paid real money than see alot of the crap out there today that'll whiplash me with a lingering PTSD.

Yep. The earlier 'hokey' movies are for me such as this one.
