The current Gaia Cult is a cunning mixture of science, paganism, eastern mysticism, wicca and feminism.

They are just the reincarnation of the Malthusians from the first American depression of 1720 to 1785. They will be around for another 40-50 years. Rachel Carson is the first born again apostle...sorry Al, you're just a Rachel come lately.

Have you ever notice just how needy this goddess Gaia seems to be? She can never seem to get anything done without help from the liberals.

Actually, I like my God best. He's omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent and He is Love. He doesn't need me at all. I need Him.

God is also a Father, which is an institution the liberals want to destroy for obvious reasons. Interestingly, the rejection of God as a Father is a concept that liberals and Islam have in common.

The most apocalyptic predictions of the environmentalists did not happen because they were prevented. "Silent Spring" was inaccurate for precisely the same reason as was 1984, for example. And the Love Canal episode was not repeated because it sparked proper regulation. The Thames is now a river (with fish in it) instead of an open sewer - because of regulation.

There are some people who will foul their own nest (and that of others) unless someone stops them.

edaddy - The concept of God having a gender at all is the height of hubris. And if God does have a gender IMHO the female is more appropriate.

Gaians, like other religions, have waged a genocidal war against others using these tools: starvation, slavery, childhood indoctrination, carbon sequestration, sustainability (paucity), through the UN, armed internecine wars and extreme over regulation.

M'dear Fletch: 1984 was fiction and presented as such. Silent Spring was fiction presented as scientific evidence to be used as the basis for policy; the technical term is 'damnable, palpable, bald-faced lie'.

And that strawman lacks stuffing. The fact that regulation has been worthwhile in the past does not mean every tiniest aspect of life should be examined for appropriateness by a bureaucrat supervised by a Harvard graduate.

Just what we need.. another deity. Please. Can't we just call it "conservation", allow states to "regulate" and get Big Fed and Big UN OUR OF OUR LIVES? All I have to do is see the environmental propaganda that continuously bombard my kids via their pop media - it's "praise and worship" time on the Disney Channel at any given moment. It makes me want to PUKE! I was recycling before there were fucking regulations of any kind. I recycled glass from a bar where I worked ON MY OWN! I even had to sort it at the VOLUNTARY recycling center.. and I didn't hear one single angel sing. It was hard work that I did because I wanted to. Not because of some stupid federal or global regulation. State conservation efforts should be as invasive as governmet can become. But now, this? It's like the black liberation theology.. it's politically and racially perverted "RELIGION". It's all bull shit. Marxism now comes wrapped in a lovely green package. Because everyone loves "green", right? Every voter has the built in capacity for Human Guilt, White Guilt's evil spawn. It's the ultimate instrument for leveling the playing field, huh? "We are all human, therefore we must all.. (fill in the blank)". I don't have the stomach for filling in that blank - but it explains abortion, infanticide, genocide, and yes REGULATIONS THAT KILL. Think DDT. Rachel Carson is celebrated by government environmental agengies - post her quotes on their facebook feeds. Wow. Federal Agency - how very...ESTABLISHMENT. Look how far they've come - they are now "The Man". The regulators don't give a shit about the poor suckers who fall for their sales pitch any more than the ones who suffer and/or die at the hands of their regulations. As long as the Leftist elites have jet fuel for their lifestyle, their lovely vacation spots and their trendy organic farmers markets the rest of us can... fill in the blank again. And that is what Gaia is.. a handy, trendy, tool for brainwashing those citizens who make the mistake of snorting it.. It's praise and worship time for stupid people everywhere. Oh,and how convenient.. it's basically anti-Christian and anti-American at it's core.

Nice try Fletch. There is some truth to what you say, but "some" doesn't cover enough territory to justify the mendacity, fanaticism, trainloads of half-truths and sheer power-greed of these "Gaians."

As long as we're going the pagan route, I think we should start sacrificing these Gaians to their godess, preferrably in giant Aztec-like bunches. Obsidian knives, anyone?

Oh, and Fletch, God as a "He" is just what this estrogen-soaked, unbalanced metrosexual world needs. Phallic power to counterbalance Gaia, just like in the old (and real) pagan days.

What is it with you folks? Are you going to be like the islamofascists now? I can't be a common-sense conservative or have moral values similar to yours because I don't worship your particular God? As one of the previous commenters stated, I should be sacrificed to my Goddess(Who doesn't happen to be the earth, by the way)? Are you so blind that you accept that, since I follow a Pagan spiritual Path, I am a kool-aid drinkin' enviro-whackjob? If you want to learn a little about a conservative, patriotic Pagan, go look at my website.(That was for the editors. I won't try to plug my blog on your bandwidth.) I might even write some more about the ignorance that may cause my so-called "fellow" conservatives to FAIL. If I can only count on being vilified for my beliefs, or maybe worse, by people who should see me as an ally and a friend, why should I work for our common good, when you won't allow(HAH) me, and others like me, to live in our nation after "we" bring it back from the brink the other fools are trying to drive it over? The article you might want to read is called "The Learning Curve - Are You On It?" Read it. Wake up!
