"These Are Fundamental" 1956

Lee Tire and Rubber was founded by J. Ellwood Lee in 1910. The company was once known around the world as "Lee of Conshohocken." Goodyear bought the company in 1966, and closed it down in 1978. The Lee Tire building still stands today.

I lived in Youngstown for two years, back at the turn of the millennium. Things have changed there, much for the worse, if it was ever as the ad claims. Between the mob and the unions, all those fundamental values didn't stand much of a chance, and it shows. They have some of the worst roads I've ever seen (thanks to the Teamsters, if memory serves), and while we were there we witnessed such high points as nurses unions shutting down hospitals and a crooked congressman getting indicted for racketeering (among other things).

Thankfully, it was no longer the "car bomb capital of the country" though, so I guess it had that going for it...
