“I’m targeting this paper because, no offence intended, the readership may be in need of some simple material to assist them in understanding better the debate.”

The problem simply stated is we flat headed individuals with low ear lines and eyes close together refuse to listen to that pointy headed race with hair tufts just above their ear line and those beaked noses with excessive nose hair necessary for wearing trifocals.

This gives them agita. A severe case requiring Tums™ salads for lunch and dinner. You know what all that roughage does to one? Right!

Perhaps something along the lines of "I fart for global warming."

My skepticism in the face of the doom-sayers prophecies is bouyed by my memory of all the predicted dooms that have not come to pass.

So I make my modest proposal - that the prophets of Global Cooling/Global Warming/ Climate Change should be treated the same as any failed Old Testament prophet.

I would have found it easier to accept global warming if I had not lived through the 70s when Time magazine and Newsweek magazine were telling us that we were definitely on the path of global cooling. Predictions included massive famines by the 1990s because of the loss of arable land due to the icing over of the continents. I don't recall any of that happening, but I'm old and retired and maybe I forgot.

When my 13 year-old daughter was told by her hysterical science teacher last year that carbon dioxide was a pollutant, she was polite enough to refrain from laughing at him to his face, but at supper, when she told us about it, she let loose. And after we all laughed, too, we ate our roasted beast and buttered potatoes and green beans, drank our carbondioxidated water otherwise known as soda pop, and then we belched and farted, and then we laughed some more.

How high is the sky? They've been telling for near 70 years that it's falling. Any guesses?

How smart does a reader need to be to understand reports on cooked data??? The science is NOT settled, even among scientists!

Ah Jewel,

Your heartwarming tale brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye.

Ridicule is the only proper response to such blatant stupidity.
