To the vapidness of the statement I would attest, to the practicality or tangibility I would protest.

Perceptions change over time based on non-perceptions. Examples abound without resorting to mental patients or abnormal factions factored in.

Do the perceptions one has form a basis for belief: yes. But not the only basis, as the comparision one makes of different perceptions that would lead one to opposite conclusions requires another basis of belief in addition to the needed perceptions.

In theory, two people as close as possible (which, sure, with infinity around us, I admit isn't close at all but perhaps the theory still might serve some purpose) to each other in terms of shared perceptions would form the same beliefs, regardless of genetics or any other factors not based on perception.

I believe a person with a 140 IQ would have different beliefs from a person with an IQ of 84, even with identical perceptions as stimulated by some fanciful "ceterus parabus" Utopian alternative-universe lab.

I am sometimes amazed at the creativity seemingly ordinary people in business demonstrate. A thousand years from now, perhaps the most famous artifacts of Western civilization of our period will be advertisements. I'm not being sarcastic. Some ads encapsulate the height of irony and wit that the mind can attain. It is most unfortunate that politics never attracts the kind of perceptive people that create and use such ads.

Even if I don't respect the premise, I guess I can respect the honesty. The reason it is a man's world is because only ego and greed can rule this world and sex is the single motivating factor. Misogyny, even wrapped in capitalism, is still misogyny. But at least we ladies still have the advantage on Mother's Day. Motherhood is a rather thankless job the other 364 days of the year but someone has to raise the sons who grow up to by misogynist wannabes and girls who grow up to be lingerie model wannabes. In the end, we all get old equally (God willing) and complain about everything equally and then die equally.
