$5,000 Bullets: Chris Rock Now Advising Obama On Gun Control

Ah yes, the sacred right to bear arms that cannot be fired. No doubt that's what the Founding Fathers had in mind.

At least the criminals won't have any bullets, either. Whew. Dodged one. Oh wait, no we didn't.

"When cartridges are outlawed, only outlaws will have cartridges."

I predict that people will start manufacturing their own bullets. They may not be lead, perhaps they will be ceramic, or even wood, or whatever people can find to melt down, but someone will find a way around this. Hopefully, there will be a new industry in bullet molds...you know, for novelty ice cubes.

Functional black powder reproductions of Civil War era revolvers and rifles are available through the mail without registration in most states. Caps, balls and powder are also readily available. It may be safe to say that these weapons killed more Americans than the modern cartridge guns.
Amazon has at least one book devoted to making black powder from scratch. They also have a book demonstrating how to build guns from hardware store plumbing.

Ah yes, Mr. Johnsen, the good old fashion zip gun of the '40 & '50's.

Does anyone think today's body armor will stop a crossbow bolt? A shaft from a longbow? Talk about silenced weapons.

Stock up on primers, the only component that is not possible to manufacture at home. Brass, can be used again and again. The more nominal the load, (as opposed to high pressure loadings) the longer the brass life. As for lead, there is an endless supply of lead, wheel weights, old lead acid batteries etc. Yea it's a pain in the ass to recover, but in a pinch??? I think that Comrade Zero has forgotten how innovative the American People are when pressed, or in this case oppressed.

Peccable has a good point - primers and percussion caps are tricky to fabricate, though I'll bet not impossible as they became common nearly 200 years ago. Flintlocks are usable without fancy chemistry, as are bow and arrow.

Should the "anointed one" try this, the Congress should impeach and remove him.

I think we can thank Mrs. Clinton for this one - I am pretty sure that she and President Clinton proposed controlling ammo, through either bans or high taxes, early in his first term, when Hilary was still expecting to be in charge of Health Insurance for All. I haven't looked to see if any of the old reports are on line to confirm but that's the way I remember it.

The local Party officials and apparatchki will be so surprised to find that there is no room in the Green Zones for them.

So, a new market for the Mob(s) of all the varying ethnicities: selling contraband ammunition, most likely smuggled in from China via our porous southern border.

Actually, primers can be re-manufactured at home. Contact explosives (e.g. fulminates, styphnates, etc.) can be made fairly easily in your garage. They are just dangerous as hell in any significant quantity.
