Happy UnBirthday to Me: I Almost Forgot to Mention That American Digest is 9 Years Old

Happy Unbirthday, Gerard!

I'm not exactly sure when or how I discovered your site, but I began reading blogs in the wake of 9/11. Among the earliest ones I remember reading were Rachel Lucas, Eject!Eject!Eject!, USS Clueless, A Small Victory, IMAO, and (sigh) Little Green Footballs. Somewhere along the line I followed a link to your place, and here I am.

AD is STILL the best diner on the innernets; throw yourself a massive party, Gerard!

Posted by robinstarfish at July 12, 2011 4:56 PM

Have spaghetti for dinner, dearest. And a good wine.

The best site for cites and sights available. More of my destinations begin with a link from AD than anywhere else. When you get around to the refurbishment do something that enables subscription to comments. Disqus for instance.

I didn't discover you until 2004, but I haven't missed a new post since. And, you are my favorite of all bloggers.

Happy Belated Unbirthday!

American Digest is my first read of the day nearly every day. Thank you. I don't really know why you would want to change it; the format is one of the best.

Congratulations! ...and many more!

Yes! Happy Ninth Unbirthday to your excellent site! I love it!

Congrats to the hardest worker on the Internet. You and Lileks and Bob Godwin are why God allowed Al Gore to invent the thing.

I'll second what Joan said, and add- "putting up with" you and your blog is always a bright spot in my day.
Thank You.

Amen, Joan. Whatever you do with this site, Gerard, just don't disappear it.

Just grateful that you are here, sir - and wish you joy on your unbirthday.

Keep it up. You're still doin' it better than blogs half your age. And without Viagra!

Happy Unbirthday! May you have as many more as you wish!

Nine years old and it's still not toilet trained.

Oh, and Sippican Cottage should be also noted among the best reasons for the Intartubes, as well. *smacks forehead*

Thanks G, I appreciate your work.

Happy Birthday, and long may you continue with this site. The best on the Web.

I wish I could remember what Link led me here....I too was a post-911 junkie at USS Clueless, Rachel Lucas, and a few others....

But I do know that your site has led me to all sorts of other sites that I now visit on a regular basis. (As a lurker - I'm not much of a poster).

The very lastest being Anne Barnhardt.

You're the best.

Thanks again.

Happy Belated UnBirthday, AD! Nine is.. quite a lot of work! I'm in awe!! And I am completely addicted so please, PLEASE keep it coming! I think I speak for all the AD readers on that sentiment - and I'm not too proud to beg for more on behalf of the entire motley crew.

"The Name in the Stone" was the first post of yours I read, back in 2003. I can't remember who linked you, but my, how things have evolved since. Some for the better, some worse. Just like the rest of the long human story.

"The Name in the Stone" was where I started too. Well, that was the day American Digest became must reading for me; I had seen posts off and on for a few weeks before that.

To say that I really appreciate your work would be a gross understatement.

Congratulations! And that invitation to the Sixth Annual Gun Blogger Rendezvous remains open! Only 56 days left!

None better - very few as good. Thanks Gerard.

I dunno. People feel comfortable on old sofas and walking familiar hallways.
