This number more than triples, to 5.26 percent, for periods of unified government.' If we weren't already tipping too far to the left, I could go along with this notion. But even Will doesn't take it far enough. What America needs and has needed for a long time is The Tea Party Treatment. Euro-loving S&P can go fuck itself. And, btw, on the flip side, I've heard this same argument used by a ousted Establishment-Repub incumbent to undermine the Tea Party's authenticity - claiming it was European-style politics. Smaller government is European? Since when? But it made him feel better as he licked his wounds.
