Street Legal Objets d'Art: The Derelicts by ICON

Over here on the island I've been car shopping. Citroen is a brand that is available here. Inspired by your post a while back on the Instamatic, I was wondering why doesn't Citroen make a modern version of the DS? And then I see this post. People would go as crazy for an old/new DS as I would go for one of these beauties.

One thing that makes me very optimistic about the future is that the tools to create machines of this nature keep getting cheaper. More and more firms will be able to create better and more beautiful stuff in smaller batches that will be affordable by mere mortals.

I love that idea.

If I had the dough, I'd get this...a replica of the 1948 Tucker with all modern mechanics.

This is the vehicle I have always wanted. Alas, it probably costs as much as a Bentley.

You had someone paint my "rusty" car?!?!?

Are you CRAZY?!?!?

Do you have any idea how much I paid to get it to look that way?

:)

Uh, how about "don't want"? I had the real thing back in the day (the fifties) - no choice to go with more modern technology at the time because there wasn't any - and somehow in spite of driving every minute that I could for so many years, I survived. Not tempted to try it again with the externalities at hand, even if they include some nifty, modern stuff. Thanks anyway.

It's not the driving Ed. It's the parking. Check out that back seat!

Or you could import "originals" from Castro's Cuba. I've heard that Cuban car mechanics are the finest in the world.

Ah yes, I do appreciate the parking niceties. I confess that I forgot about them from my 70+ vantage point, and that, indeed, is unforgivable, particularly after all the time I spent as a lad perfecting my techniques for same.
