Comments: Aside of the Day
People turn over too much to the experts. They complain about lousy teachers and never make up for the deficiencies they notice in their kid's education. You don't have to homeschool or send to private school. But how about long discussion at home about American and world history.
It's my impression people expect some establishment of experts to be running around making sure only good outcomes happen, somebody should make it so I only have smart financial options and never get tricked by a salesman. It's not my job to investigate before I make choices, in their view. Everybody is buying houses, I'll buy one. Price of gas goes up, buy a new car.
You are in charge of you and you must see to it you know what you need to know. You can use experts to help you know. But, nobody is going to know or do things for you as well as you should.
If you are watching prime-time TV you probably aren't doing enough for you. The future is going to happen whether you're ready or not.

What's "economic truth"?The Austrian Economist is biased toardws accepting axioms that fit his ideology. And if there's evidence contradicting these "truths," then he denies that real-world observations have any value.
