The AF2011-A1 DOUBLE BARREL PISTOL or "Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing."

You've gone from flesh peddling to flash porn. I'm impressed, man.

Want. Badly want.

Fits the adage: Life is expensive, bullets are cheap; anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice.

I wonder which action movie star will be first to fire two of these at once (gangsta' style, of course) in a film?

Posted by JD(not the one with the picture) at March 12, 2012 4:37 PM

Looks a little like a bald Clint Eastwood.

Posted by ahem at March 12, 2012 4:59 PM

Iiiiiiiii ... waaaannnt ..... one. I want one now. Right now. NOW. Stamps foot, folds arms, pouts.

Ooooo!!! All sorts of exciting new stoppages await!

Posted by Mike James at March 12, 2012 6:36 PM

Now youze can poke both yer eyes out at the same time!

I don't know, Mike J. I've always found the M1911 to be very reliable. But it does raise some questions on stoppage drills. And in case one side gets jammed, can you still fire the other one? Looks like you can, but it would be good to know that before you have to do it for real. And I do want to get me one.

Dittos on the 1911. It fires a big slug, but it fits comfortably in the hand, even my smaller than average hand. The grip is slimmer than many small to medium caliber polymer pistols, like Glock. It's heavy, but that heft reduces the felt recoil. You are not going to be holding that weight for very long, and the 45 ACP invitation to an attitude adjustment makes sure you don't have to ask twice.

You can get a GI model Rock Island Armory 1911 for $400-500. You can get a Sig Sauer or Kimber 1911 for $1,000-ish. If Ruger could keep up with demand you can get a really sweet SR1911 for $700 or less. You can probably get a custom made match quality Ed Brown for what I imagine you'd spend on Frankenpistol.

You can window shop at Buds Gun Shop and Gallery of Guns. All the cool kids are doing it.

Mmmmmmmm. Daddy like!

Posted by azlibertarian at March 13, 2012 7:09 AM

That's completely excessive.

I want one!

Racking that double slide must take brute force.

Posted by Terry at March 13, 2012 10:34 AM

Oh, yes.

I feel like I walked into a Doublemints commercial.

waltj, it looks to me as if there is one fat slide on one fat frame which contains two of everything else (I forgot, one weirdo fat dual magazine). I wouldn't start out to say anything about a 1911, but this is a sort of Siamese 1911, and I can't help thinking that everything depends upon both sets of actions working correctly with each squeeze of the fat trigger. A doubling of the chance of a stoppage, sort of like how that Soviet VSTOL strike aircraft, the Forger, had three times the likelyhood of engine loss, and thus loss of the aircraft, because it depended on three engines to hover, versus Harrier's one.

Swiss armourer Vivian Mueller, eh? Wasn't there a Playboy Playmate back in the day by the name of Vivian Mueller? Is this another case of a smoking hot babe coming up with a smoking hot bit of technology, kinda sorta like how Hedy Lamarr invented skip frequency spread spectrum radio transmission? Or maybe her name was Lilian...

@Mike J, looks like you're right. But I'd still like to confirm it on the range:-).
