Wait, WHAT? Liberace was gay?

When did this come out?

I don't think I ever saw the movie in question, but I am old enough to remember Liberace pretty well. In his act, Liberace appeared to be always in on the joke, not taking himself too seriously. He gave the impression that it was really a privilege to get to do what he did and get paid for it.

This was true of a lot of the performers I remember fondly.

Performers today seem more inclined to harbor feelings of self-importance. They seem to forget that they are working for the audience and that the first rule of entertainment is to entertain. That may be one of the reasons Pixar has consistently made the best films for the last seventeen years or so.

Liberace was a Nelly Queen..
but that was overshadowed by his ability on the keyboard.
