Comments: Can We Still Win Wars?
Anytime you fight by restrictive rule instead of their rules, you lose.
This goes for the faggot lefties here and for the Occupy whatever.
This country ordered 14 upmteen gazillion rounds of working ammo. Use it on the criminal lefties; if you're not so considered and you're in that mob: DIE!

The good professor is just a bit premature. These wars (Iraq, Afghanistan) are just police-actions compared the civilizational crisis war that's coming. Once that gets going, the gloves will come off. Because the alternative is defeat.
See part 2 of this interview with generational theorist John Xenakis for more discussion.

Soviet of Washington, wanna bet the gloves stay on and they'll be thumbless gloves.
The lefty poufters will get on their knees and blow a goat before they admit the 'perception is reality' belief system is wrong.

Sure, we can WIN wars, we just can't handle the rebuilding.

Our military has the power, but neither the leaders nor the people have the will. Most great American victories in major conflicts were near things that would have been considered either inconclusive or even "defeats" in these neutered times of ours. Our military is ill-served by the nation it defends.

The country that tore itself apart over waterboarding three confessed terrorists...
The only ones agonizing over it were The Usual Suspects on the Left -- although they certainly made enough noise to create and sustain the fiction that the rest of us gave a rat's rear about three dirtbags getting their faces washed for the first time in their lives.

The candidate that campaigned on "an end to nation-building" with the military promptly set about 2 nation-building fiascoes ASAP.
Until we remember that it is our most moral of all rights to utterly vaporize anyone or anything that so much as harms an American we are doomed to repeated losses, no matter the weakness of the enemy. All of the lives of children in the sandbox are not worth serious injury to a squad of Marines. Yet even our war hawks are determined to shoot ourselves in the foot as often as necessary.
Melt our enemies. For the love of God, melt the damn enemy! If you don't have the stomach for that you aren't understanding what comes next. The war is coming to a school, mall, building near you. It won't be prevented by even the most gentle of treatment or the most restrictive of ROE. Until our enemies actually fear us more than they understand us, we are sitting ducks. They should start dropping PC Generals from cargo aircraft until The Pentagon understands their job is to win before the next sunrise. A government that won't protect the country is no government worthy of loyalty. How many more decades of this self-crippled BS must we endure?

I think there has to be a line drawn between "nation building" and "rebuilding a nation after defeating them." We didn't go into Afghanistan and Iraq to fix them like Libya or Somalia, we went in there to destroy an enemy.
I guess the distinction is subtle but it is real.

1. Identify the enemy.
2. Defeat the enemy.
Any questions? Note, there is no provision for fixing windows back there.
I have a daydream about a president being sworn in and immediately having DoD returned to DoW, but it is only a dream.
You cannot have peace without victory.
