Comments: "Cool zillionaires in flipflops are good while uncool ones in wingtips are quite bad"
There's just something about an old perv like Letterman using power to do the interns that just exudes "cool"

In polite society, these individuals are called 'the Upper Shtuppers.'

This is because there is increasing becoming "Two Americas" and not the Two America's of John Edwards.
That there can be separate rules for the two separate groups is perfectly acceptable, as we have now officially, over time, become a nation of men rather than a nation of laws.
The distinction between "correct" thinking versus those who think incorrectly, and who therefore are "haters," "racists," "homophobes," "gun clingers," "christianists," "neaderthal slopeheads" and whatever other perfectly acceptable vile names can be attached to them -- will become even more pronounced as time continues to pass.
Such haters simply must be shunned and humiliated and embarrassed into just shutting up. And if they continue to refuse to shut up, well then -- Action will be needed. The internet and radio airwaves for example will simply need to be "regulated" and controled so that the offensive "hate" speech crimes cannot be committed, on public airways.
And if the purveyors of such hate speech, which due to its hateful nature must be delared to be felonies, continue to make attempts to evade their silencing, then regrettably, the government will have no alternative but to sadly impose prison sentences for them.
Our ONLY hope is that more and more people are beginning to wake up to this double standard, and are slowly beginning to get fed up. Hopefully it is not too late.....but I fear it may be.

One of the most powerful pieces I have read on what is wrong with the way we are headed. So simple even a liberal could understand it, if they wanted to.
The most important thing we can do is elect conservative Republicans, and make sure they understand four things:
1. Your opponent is not the Democrat running against you, it is the media running against America - attack it and we will back you. Try to cozy up to it (John) and we will shun you and work to replace you.
2. If you are elected to office, work tirelessly to purge the left from the civil service and rein in rampant bureacracies. Do not retain lackeys for their experience - they have the wrong kind, and there are plenty of capable people out there who know how to deliver value to a customer.
3. We are your customer.
4. Forget #3 and you too are gone.

From an email exchange with Bruce Hanify:
In re Hanson's piece, though.....he's always onto something, and this is no exception. He misses the mark with "cool," though, and it's nowhere more apparent than the photo of Zuckerberg and pals which accompanies the article.
Tell the truth: have you ever seen a more pathetic bunch of un-cool dweebs in one place in your life? As I mentioned to Loretta a couple of years ago, the defining characteristic of every unexamined liberal simp that annoys you daily is that he/she is still spending his/her life trying desperately to finally make high school come out right.
If you could possibly disguise yourself as something other than an adult for long enough, I guarantee that you'd hear, from every liberal you know, their barely-buried resentment of the jocks and cheerleaders and basically any happy kid that they envied as adolescents. It apparently never goes away - and keep in mind I'm now 67 and living among the pitiful for the last 4 years or so. An astonishing percentage of the populace just never grows up - and if you're not bitter and resentful about some damn thing, it's your fault. Everything. We're talking about "women" in their 70's and 80's who talk babytalk, and "men" who think it's significant that they had long hair in the '60s.
Mitt Romney? He was smiling in high school. Not to mention tall. Ann Coulter? She laughs all the goddam time. How dare they? Conservatives have lives, and kids, and make it on their own doing things I'm too scared to even think about. They have their pictures taken with guns!!!!
What Hanson is getting at is not "cool," but the kind of suavity imagined by damaged 13-year-olds, of whatever vintage. How fucked up would you have to be to envy Bill Clinton or Barry Dunham-Soetero-Obama? Try to imagine the kind of fledgling female who projects her longings for whateverthefucktheywant onto Nancy Pelosi or Michelle Obama. If any Dem ever starts wearing Metallica t-shirts you're gonna discover a whole new voting pool as the chronically-alienated demographic discovers its voice. Count on it.
What's really going on, and has been since Bill Gates struck it rich (ever seen that photo of the Microsoft gang in the '70s?) is The Revenge Of The Nerds, to a power of about a thousand. The real deal about teenage geeks has always been that they spend their existence resenting people that just don't care. And now they're gonna get even if it's the last thing they do.
