Ha! That was fun. I didn't know who was bloviating all over the sidelines, because it is a longish passage, and as I started reading, I could hear Ann's screeching holla bouncing off the sides of my cranium, and behold...it IS Ann.

Yes, she does have a distinct "tone." That's part of her allure. She doesn't go in for half-measures on tippy-toe.

I do wish she would take a more measured and balanced tone about Obama's flaws, though. Her uncritical hero worship is unbecoming.

It's a midwest thing, Gerard. People tend to talk through their noses. Especially Kansas people. Fortunately, I escaped Kansas before my speech patterns were set. Unfortunately, we moved to northern Montana, where our speech was ruined by the Saskatchewankers. Fortunately, I was freed from that frigid form of speaking by marriage to a Pennsylvanian and escaped to Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the people in his family all talk like Sylvester Stallone.
Fortunately, I always have something to laugh about.

Of all his faults it's the golf swing that is hardest to understand. I caddied summers as a kid, at Congressional in fact, where Teh Won must play now and again. We used to hit a few balls out of the members bags waiting for them early a.m. at the back nine. I never saw a brother who couldn't crush the ball, and none of those guys ever played a round or cared to.

How can anyone know how pathetic Obama's golf swing presently is. They did show it a few times at the beginning of his term and it was such a pussified little thing it drew immediate scorn and so they stopped showing it. But how do they know how good or bad it is no-
