Something Wonderful: Цекало и Puttin` отожгли на Воробьевых горах (Super Dooper!)

"Putin" on the ritz.
No kidding!
Great bit, though.

Am I the only one in the world who hates flash mobs? They're everything that's wrong with life today: intrusive, self-congratulatory, insufferably precious. The flash mob says, "Whatever you happen to be doing, stop it and admire me!" it should be legal to machine-gun these exhibitionist scumbags.

Dang Funky, who peed in your cheerios?

"They're everything that's wrong with life today"

I suppose that being frostbitten and unde-armed with the nazis in front of you (and the KGB behind), or starving to death in a shelled tenement, or a frozen corpse in the snow as it was seventy years ago are preferable alternatives, then.

Flashmobbing is the ONLY thing I like about liberals.

Would you prefer your flash mobs in white or black, since diversity is very important.

I smiled, tapped my toes.

Though it did seem like the number of performers exceeded the number of bystanders.

Jewel - you are guilty of badthink. To the re-education camp with you!

I denounce myself for thinking the same.

Who's "Harry Cooper?"

why were all these people standing around in the snow?

Now we surely know who won the Cold War! But they're welcome to the 'cold' bit. Midst the clamour did you hear the regular clang of brass monkeys' bollix dropping and punctuating the rhythm? Staged or semi-staged, infectious optimism, albeit oligarchical optimism, cannot be bad, notwithstanding the miasma of gloom of imminent doom that deepens around us all.

Moreover, it's comforting that note that, Elton's "Nikita" hardly counterbalances the predominance of the influence of English language and American culture & music in the renaissance of Russia. And note the limo!

"Harry Cooper" knocked Cassius Clay on his ass and if it hadn't been for the 'long count' by a bent ref
he would have won the World Championship. Lest we forget.

Who's the guy at 1:57? He looks like old school KGB.

Sorry Frank P (June 2012): It was Henry Cooper, not Harry Cooper. And the song refers to Gary Cooper, the film star.
