Comments: A Time for Choosing

Umm, can I see those choices again? None of them are particularly appealing.

Ripley: "I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

I don't see option 4, "take off and nuke Wall Street and the City of London from orbit".

The main reason I am opposed to nuking DC is that I live about 60 miles from there. Depending on the prevailing winds, I could get hit with the fallout.

Plus there are some cool things to see there, like the Air and Space Museum.

There's always somebody that favors culture over real progress. Sheesh!

Well! No shit, Sherlock!

Jewel, tell me if I'm wrong, but have you been waiting your whole life to say that in earnest?

I don't know if Sherlock stuttered or just repeated himself.

I hope you realize that I'm probably going to copy the preceeding thread to create a blogpost of great humor.

Although I voted to nuke DC from orbit, I think there is a cheaper, more satisfying solution: cut all communications lines, close all roads and highways in and out, put up a series of razor wire fences around the place, then let the pols legislate each other to death, and pick their own pockets. Don't let anyone in or out! Can you imagine the frustration and howling going on when Obama writes an EO that everyone ignores? When the EPA issues an asinine edict that can only be enforced in DC? With NLRB contained, Boeing and any other company can build new plants and move existing plants anywhere they want so as to stay in business? It would be comedy gold!
