Comments: "Barack Obama lights candles, Mitt Romney spreads darkness, and Osama bin Laden is dead. "
What about if we mail a paper copy of a license? One, do we classify this at all? If so, do we use printed matter as the classification? Is it considered a physical good since it has been printed on paper? Two, do we file AES? If so, what value do we report?

I, too, apologize for the delay. I've been on a two month detail with the International Trade Administration for the National Export Initiative. Our blog team is currently revamping our marketing strategy to spread the word out. Our office just sent out a broadcast message to all of our email subscribers, we are going to get on twitter, and also have guest bloggers. We are also hoping that people pass us along to other users. Any other suggestions? Did NIST reply back?

Ray hits it on the nose. Previously a huge fan of GKP, I find myself more and more irritated and insulted with every parting shot. Language Hat is quite right that it's the prerogative of the blogger, and that this is not "our" community. But then it's not a community at all, just as a one-way conversation is not a conversation, and so I find myself not bothering to read entries with comments disabled. (I've considered implementing precisely the same hack that D.O. describes.) With no disrespect to the LL Headquarters team, at least half the pleasure of the Log consists in the back-and-forth of educated, interested participants who are welcomed into the discussion.

Be not scared of greatness: some are born wonderful, some obtain greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.
