I hear the words of the rasta man say
Babylon your throne gone down, gone down
Babylon your throne gone down

Said, I hear the words of the higher man say
Babylon your throne gone down, gone down
Babylon your throne gone down

And I hear the angel with the seven seals
Babylon your throne's gone down, gone down
Babylon your throne gone down

I had the privilege of seeing and holding Edwards' handwritten manuscript of that sermon when I was working as a transcriber for a publication project of Edwards' previously unpublished sermons. In a way, it made the words more powerful than the printed versions. Edwards wrote his sermons in a very small, almost monastic hand with homemade ink on sheets of rag paper that he cut, folded, and sewed into little booklets small enough to hold in his hand while preaching. The original thread that he used was still holding the pages of The "Enfield Sermon" together when I saw it. Quite an "awakening" experience, in his sense of the word.
