Flight Level 390 and Captain Dave: Status

I'm relieved to hear that he is alive, presumed well, and apparently not incarcerated.

Add one to the count of people known to be feeling deprived.

Thanks for the update.

Some airlines have policies against employees blogging.

Example; Queen Of Sky, Ellen Simonetti.

Hopefully another blogging platform will suffice.

Good to know that it's still hard to keep such a good man, accustomed to flying high, down.

Thanks for the info...Many of his fans, me included, were worried about him...If you have a chance please relay to him we await his return to the net with great anticipation.

Thanks for the update, Gerard. Captain Dave is indeed a master at writing of the inner experience of airline aviation. None that I know of; not Ernie Gann, or Richard Bach, or any that I have read; do it better.

His contibution to aviation writing thus far has been immense. May he soon return and continue. Barring that, I hope he will turn his old posts into a book.

Thank you for checking on Captain Dave and relaying to us the good news that he may soon return to the blogosphere. I am in full concurrence with those who applaud his writing. At times, I believe that it reaches the level of poetry.

First Lex, now the Captain.
Did he say why he quit?

And when he's back, notify us in 72-point print!

I am so very happy to hear that Capt. Dave is alive and well, and hopefully still flying. Not only do I really enjoy his writing, but (as a nervous flyer) I feel much safer in the air knowing that there are pilots like Capt. Dave, and his many well trained Co-Pilots, in the air.

Please wish him "Safe Travels" and "Come Back Soon" from me and the rest of his loyal followers who miss him very much!

So glad to read that the good Captain is still with us, even if not writing for the moment.

Echo EastCoastGirl - I and several previously nervous flyers from the UK have been turned into complete flying enthusiasts after being pointed at FL390 a couple of years back.

As an former ramp rat - I also very much enjoyed reading Capt. Dave's blogs. I do hope we can see him in print again soon.
Best wishes

We still miss the Captain with the Capital C. I even miss looking at the pictures of Aviation Hero's he had on the right side of his blog. I hope those hero's are telling him to bring the blog back.
