Go to Israel. Many Jews have made aliyah from Ethiopia. Mr. Davis would fit right in.

Yup, like the Jewish couple traveling in China, spot a temple. They go in and meet Ya Fong the Rabbi.

In Jerusalem, when I see a black guy hanging around downtown with a toothpick in his mouth and a machine pistol around his neck, I find it reassuring.
In the US, it would be terrifying. Just as black, but a different culture...

I can't remember his name offhand, and I'm too lazy at the moment to do a search, but I seem to remember that Charleston, SC had a black Orthodox Jewish police chief. Maybe they still do, since I also remember him being quite popular with both the citizens and the Department. In his case, he wasn't a convert, but grew up Jewish because of grandparents on one side of the family who were Russian Jews.
