Comments: Monday's Stack of Slack is Back
This portrait is of . . . whom? Looks like a touch up or copy of an old Warner Sallman painting. When I was young, the owners of these works at the time (Kriebel & Bates) were neighbors. Bates lived next door, and used to bring home packages of Sallman prints in cheap little frames, for his son, and my pal, Freddie and I to peddle door to door in our neighborhood for pocket money. Kriebel lived about six doors down from us.

I love reading Mitchell, but I've come to suspect he made up half of what he wrote. Everyone he wrote about was so astonishingly quotable, and he found those people twice a day. On deadline.

I concur. Indeed he was the master of blending amalgamation with imagination.

I want a sound weapon that I can aim at a boom car radiating noise and profanity. Something that, with the push of a button can not only fry all their speakers, but their engine and hydraulics as well.

When I saw that headline about "Black Porn for Black Women", I was expecting something like that satirical "Porn for Women" series that shows fully-clothed guys cooking meals, doing housework, etc. Except in this variant, it would depict fully-clothed Black men holding books, paychecks, and clean NCIC printouts.
