Comments: Emergency Rice in Can Shunmai Shinkan Set
Interesting, I was under the impression that Japanese law forbade the export of any uncooked domestically grown rice.

My Japanese exchange student looked at his plate of fragrant jasmine rice, perfectly steamed, with a sunnyside egg atop, and said one of many phrases that he would say before asking for thirds: "I don't think I gonna rike. It's not Japanese rice."
"No", said I. "It's much better."
With that, I'd thrown down the gauntlet, and he was determined to prove to me, to himself, to his mom, that Japanese rice was superior, that this dumb American broad knew nothing about how to cook rice.
And then he ate the entire pot.
