The Top-Of-The-Food-Chain Soul Train's Gotta Roll: Rush's Rushing to Miss It

Thanks for including the instructional video on twerking.
I think.

I once accidentally happened onto some generic rapper's video and he kept saying he had a big, big treat in his obscenity laced "song," really building up the momentum. Suddenly a rear shot of a very large woman tightly clad in a fishnet dress with thong underneath began doing what I now learn is twerking. I did not know this gyration had a name. Her cheeks took on a life of their own and were bouncing out to the bass. Think flesh tsunami, waves and waves of undulating, unrestrained flesh. Since there is a "how-to" video on twerking, I imagine it is part of youth culture today. Is this Soul Train version 2.0 in an Obama culture?

Well said. Sad, true and likely unrecoverable.

Having worked with this demographic once by choice, and now by accident I can attest to the truth of this post. Indeed, the pastors of their every church are the richest among them (or just dress that way) and are expected to prosper and live well, as an example of power and success and God's favor.

Culturally expediency assures that most won't trust a poor, humble, intelligent and honest black man to lead them anywhere.

"Twerking" - so that's what the kids are calling it now days.

Thanks. (Like Jewel, I think)

I do think Limbaugh understands. I think a lot of his target audience and many if not most Conservatives / Republicans do not. I think he is trying to lay it out for them. I doubt they will get a clue.

Butt now that we have been schooled on this whacky dance craze, some of those weird pictures of MOTUS must be of her twerking, like at those awkward moments at children's events in the white house garden where most of us are thinking what just happened? It all makes sense now.

Thanks (like Jewel & MOTUS, I think).

I've said for a while that the Obamas are living like white trash that won Powerball. They're still trash inside but now they have the expensive clothes (awkward and often hideous), the expensive parties and vacations and all. They hang out with the beautiful people and celebrities, they're living the life.

Its sort of distasteful and classless to behold, but they don't care about dignity or honor or class. They care about power.

Posted by Christopher Taylor at April 10, 2013 9:25 PM

I heard this at least twice on Limbaugh's show before Obama's Immaculation. One man and one woman did the obligatory retelling of their cultural resume, the long history of how they came to hear Rush for the first time, on and on and on. Then they announced how much they've learned from Rush over the years before asking Rush "what do you think about this Obama guy? Do you think he might be able to bring people together and fix our problems?"

This is why I call almost all conservative media nothing but political masturbation. It seems all of this effort is for nothing more significant than feeling good while the show is on. It never seems to spur anyone to action. The audience never seems to be better equipped no matter how many decades consumption they confess. It's just background music while they tune into one word here or one parody there. Time after time a caller with untold years of listening needs Rush to tell them the magic words to use to explain to a liberal in their life why you can't make the minimum wage high enough to eliminate poverty or why you can't raise taxes enough from the rich to pay for every promise that's been made.

Frankly the women callers are the worst. Invariably the women callers must give you the emotional details of 18 people they know before getting to a point and then as soon as they get some sort of answer THEY UNIVERSALLY explain once again why they are asking the question. If the callers had actually heard 1% of the words spoken there would be no need for the show. But the throngs of Inactive Reserve Conservatives need something droning on to block the noise of their nation dying around them. They sure aren't going to DO anything, they just want justification for being angry or being passive. "Make me feel better or hopeless, whichever, so I don't have to do anything. Thanks."

I used to live in Chicago. I know the type. I had never met pseudo-educated angry blacks before. Are you not aware that the CIA created AIDS to kill black children? It was part of their catechism. Anyways, if you can see the anger/contempt in these two now. Just wait until their phone doesn't ring anymore. They'll make the peanut farmer look like a statesman.

There's a cheerful start to my day. Time to drink whiskey and clean a handgun.

Can it really be that all of black culture is so non-productive? Are there any black woodworkers, bricklayers, carpenters, farmers helping to build and feed this nation? It seems the MSM would have us believe there are rappers, athletes and presidents.

What happens if one day the white peasantry day grows tired of supporting a black ruling "intelligentsia" who dance and eat cake while thosed peaseants work by the sweat of the brow by day and school their children at home after a long day of toil?

Something else tells me that this isn't going to end well.

"I've said for a while that the Obamas are living like white trash that won Powerball. They're still trash inside but now they have the expensive clothes (awkward and often hideous)..."

Chris,

I can summarize what you just said with a well-known Spanish proverb. However, I don't feel comfortable translating it for ya, for fear of being called a "RACIST!!!" Just make sure you use Google Translate: "La mona, aunque se vista de seda, mona se queda."

Now, as for this "Twerking"... Well... Do they do it on mattresses anymore?... I don't know, I must be missing something...

Same old story: I took you out of the ghetto. But I could not get that ghetto out of you.

"[The One is] their bump of coke, their hit of crack, and their 10cc's of heroin IV daily. He's their fix; the one thing that keeps them on the nod and him as their God."

Not different from Hugo Chavez or Kim-Jong-Un.

I saw this billboard on an inner-city neighborhood two decades ago, and the message still applies today: "ADDICTION IS SLAVERY."

The Apostle Peter had "The Ones" pegged twenty centuries ago.

"Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

"These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

"For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

"While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage."

2 Peter 2:13-19. Look it up.

Just when I thought my pessimism concerning our nation's future couldn't get appreciatively worse. Well, when there's nothing left to be done, might as well just eat, drink, and be merry.

Its probably inevitable that civilization eats its self. The richer, safer, and more comfortable you become, the less you value liberty and the more you begin to value wealth, safety, and comfort. All the virtues that got you to this point become contemptible and objects of scorn, replaced by the new virtues of diversity and tolerance.

America was once characterized as a nation that viewed every problem as an opportunity to shine and make something of one's self. Now every problem is an excuse to whine and cry like a 4 year old for government to fix it all. And if you have to lose some freedom to get what you want, well that's a price worth paying to the modern American.

Only an act of God or horrific catastrophe can reverse this.

I don't know. Limbaugh is an enigma. What kind of mind, what kind of man, finds what kind of value in the garish, glaring, self aggrandizing, self indulgence that is exhibited, flaunted, at RushLimbaugh.com?

This is the perfect example of the over done and over wrought. The internet is not a "hot" medium.

RushLimbaugh.com reminds me of a Fox news set. Too shiny. All the content is on inglorious display.

I think it speaks of a vapidity without end. Its all style and no substance. I can't get my head around what kind of person finds this appealing, as a producer, as a consumer. Its a visual of everything wrong with "modern" American sensibilities. I agree with others here that Limbaugh and others like him serve to inhibit rather than facilitate the righting of the American ship of state.

I think the "Love Train" ran off the rails somewhere near the "Hate" junction. I'm pretty sure the wreckage is somewhere close to the former "City of Brotherly Love".
