The Eighteenth of April in Seventy-Five

Plus it's the anniversary of the San Francisco Fire. And my birthday.

Happy birthday, Rob.

Thanks, mushroom.

I was born the day Ernie Pyle died. No wonder nobody noticed.

Reminds me of how people laughed at Sarah Palin for saying "Revere warned the British," or something. What she was trying to say was that, in an act of defiance, Revere did taunt the British dragoon officer who briefly detained him -- telling the man that 500 militiamen stood between his forces and the militia armory at Concord.

Those who do not know this country's history (or the world history for that matter) are doomed to have to repeat it. Don't care what method you use to learn it, just learn it. And if you have an interesting way to teach it, please do.
