Lockdown / Manhunt

Ugly pictures. Wouldn't it be easier to just give everyone a shotgun and ask them to search their home and property? Or they could get together with their neighbors and go house to house. Isn't that what guyhood is about?

Shotgun? No. If we want to take the 2nd Amendment seriously we should require every adult citizen to maintain an AR-15 at home with loaded amo clips, and to demonstrate proficiency with its use and care periodically.

Has anyone else noticed the major improvement in news coverage since each network has implemented their own weekend journalists' navel-gazing show and every reporter shows up for their first local job with a journalism degree?

I remember after the Lockerbie bombing when all of them were aghast someone had stuck a news camera in the face of a distraught parent rolling on the carpet by an airline ticket counter after learning what had happened. Now they compete for those pics, if not form networks to air this daily. "we got 24 hours to fill and 2 facts and 4 rumors to keep you entertained."

If any terrorists want to basically shut a city down and rivet the attention of the entire nation, they have learned how to do it this week. The price they themselves pay might be pretty high, but that doesn't seem to bother them much.

An opportunity for insincere officials to take themselves seriously. The cops are worse. Send them all away for a week in Tel Aviv. Or Detroit.

Yep, just start shooting cops.

I wonder if folks will ever understand the concepts of unintended consequences and cause and effect.
