Life During Wartime: "Heard about Houston?...."

I never knew there was a negro in that band.

While Talking Heads proper was white, they toured with lots of black folks. Some of the more famous are Busta Cherry Jones, who would play bass adn guitar, Bernie Worrell, the fantastic keyboard man who played with Pfunk and George Clinton, Steve Scales who would play percussion and guitar, the beautiful and talented Nona Hendrix as a back up singer, she was in Labelle, and the equally lovely Dolette McDonald as a back up singer.

Negro? What are you from the 60's or racist...

When first heard, that song triggered a wash of memory about cowering under the dining-table in our lovely house on the outskirts of Karachi during the first wave of Indian air raids at the start of the war of Bangladeshi secession. (LONG freakin' story.) "Fear of Music" has been a favorite since.

Is the word caucasian racist too?

I want to make sure, so I don't make any mistakes.

Best concert evah! Saw the Talking Heads twice during the summer of 1983. Filmed by Jonathan Demme and immortalized in the film "Stop making Sense". Highly highly recommended. Two thumbs way up.

btw Gerard - this is a brilliant link to our angry hapless President who is sinking into a morass of his creation and dragging us down with him.
