DETROIT: Cause of death? Inoperable governmental cancer.

Pittsburgh has been under Democratic control for a similar length of time.

Likewise Seattle.

Likewise San Francisco.

Likewise many other cities.

Yet these cities have thrived relative to cities such as Detroit, Gary, Birmingham, Memphis, St. Louis.

Why?

Or, to rephrase the question: What single factor do these failed cities have in common that the relatively successful cities do not?

Warning: an honest answer to this question may result in feelings of intense discomfort.

Hmm. A cathedral in 1945 Hiroshima?

Well Bill the Bilderberg Jewish lizards caused Detroit to fail, if they wanted it for Hollywood they would have done it by now.

Seattle has three major things going for it. Boeing, Microsoft, and the Port of Seattle. Then there are the Naval bases and Joint Base Lewis McChord. The city of Seattle has become nearly unlivable for anyone on a median income. They are now going into deep debt to bore a car tunnel under the city. (To keep the waterfront view pristine.) This could be the beginning of "old devil debt" troubles for the "Emerald City."

The biggest difference in Detroit is twofold:
1) A moribund industry collapsing under its stupidity
2) The riots which ruined the city and never were rebuilt.

But mark my words, Baltimore, DC, and many other cities are on the same path.

You can fix much of this by requiring all taxes be dedicated to their purpose. Howard Dean said the following: Dedicating taxes would damage their ability to spend money.

It would for the better. It wouldn't stop them from pushing for social taxes. It would stop the Pols from staling funds from roads, water and first responders for favorite programs.

Shibes, the answer is what Crowder was too cowardly to say. Black Americans, when in charge, will eventually destroy the system. They cannot work well with each other let alone whites. They generally have contempt for the law and seek at the same time control and victim status. Chicago has had democratic leadership forever and has not gone under simply because whites are still in government, so far. Alex

Ah, yes, the church. It was in Hiroshima because that was one of the few places in feudal Japan where the practice of Christianity was tolerated, if barely. Despite the best efforts of the Shogun to eradicate this foreign religion, it still spread beyond the Portuguese traders to some of the Japanese population. This continued into the less stringent atmosphere of the Meiji Restoration, and thus, by 1945, Hiroshima had the highest percentage of Christians of any major Japanese city.

Detroit was the city where I was born, but my parents had some inkling of what was coming and we had already escaped to one of the surrounding counties by the time the 1967 riots rolled around. Coleman Young and his seemingly never-ending term of corrupt rule exacerbated the rot that was already there. Black pols certainly played there part, but plenty of his white cronies ate from the same trough of corruption. Eventually, the tax base was gone, and the money ran out. That's what's left now.
