Something Wonderful: I'm Putting Up the Flag

I have gone dark. When the HOA went after me for the Blue Star flag that stood beside the American flag on my covered front porch, I removed them both. Mine was the only flag with a spotlight in this 300 house development that you could see at night when you drove through. All other American flags are hung out in the weather, faded and tattered, hidden in darkness, a shame on the homeowner, on the neighborhood, and on America. My son leaves for A-stan next month for his fifth tour; no well-wishes from the neighbors are expected.

Because I can.
Because I need to......
Because I want to......

show respect and remembrance

I fly our flag.

It means the world to me.

Dear twolaneflash,

Thank your son for me and my family. He will be in our prayers.

Do you still put out the flag in daylight hours ?

Mark Levin thanks the military most nights and plays
all branches of the military's hymns/anthems including the Coast Guard and Merchant Marines on Fridays. It always moving.

I disagree....When the subject of the video says at :29 that "he's not that great with words", I think he is selling himself short. He gives us a number of very simple, and completely appropriate reasons to fly the flag.

For twolaneflash...both you and your son are due our thanks. I'll keep you all in my prayers too, and in addition to that, my flag flies with you in mind.

twolaneflash----This is no time to be stubborn. Put your American flag back up on your porch. Traditionally, the smaller Blue Star flags were displayed in a front window, so I encourage you to do the same. Fill up the whole damn window with that flag. Sometimes you just have to poke the HOA in the eye. You probably have more neighbors on your side than you think. My best wishes and prayers to you and your son.

Is this a parody? Or am I just more cynical than I thought?

@twolaneflash you and yours are the best we have in this country. I wish the rest of us could do nearly as much. If you can email me tscottme@hotmail.com I will send a few care packages to your son when he gets to the sandbox. Any items he prefers would be good to know.

Fly the flag, it's like Liberal-repellent.
