'Brosurance' and 'Hosurance': Colorado Asks Want Alcoholism, Want Sex? Get Obamacare!

Dean Vernon Wormer: Here are your grade point avarages. Mr. Kroger: two C's, two D's and an F. That's a 1.2. Congratulations, Kroger. You're at the top of the Delta pledge class. Mr. Dorfman?

Flounder: [drunk] Hello!

Dean Vernon Wormer: 0.2... Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

Wow, so F' cancers, hernias, or heart problems, Obamacare is for whores and alcoholics.

Caitlin and Ali are obviously suffering from cognitive dissonance.

In order for ObamaCare to work, these irresponsible people must be financially responsible for the healthcare of millions of irresponsible people.

I think I've discovered a glitch.

Posted by Gagdad Bob at November 13, 2013 11:28 AM

The crazy part is that the left just cannot figure out why people might dislike or be aghast at these. They just don't get it.

Posted by Christopher Taylor at November 13, 2013 1:48 PM

No Christopher, they are appealing to their target audience. The people pictured are the easiest to control.

Posted by potsie at November 13, 2013 1:53 PM

Maybe I should take a second look at Obamacare. My current policy doesn't cover kegs or prostitutes.

Posted by Gagdad Bob at November 13, 2013 2:02 PM

The thing is, if young people don't sign on to Obamacare... it will totally crater. Those young earners are the only way it has any future, and they want nothing to do with spending money on insurance. Why would they? They don't get sick. Birth control is cheap.

So this retarded insulting trash comes out. Its what they think young people are like, and maybe they're right? They sure have women pegged, single young women buy every stupid piece of crap they squeeze out and spoon feed them.

When I saw the Susie & Nate one, the first thing I thought of was 2 Timothy 3:6 and silly women led astray. Then I read 2 Timothy 3 and realized it applied to all the advertisements. Just when you think you've hit the bottom, someone digs the hole deeper. I've moved from "Lord, please don't give up on us just yet," to "Wow, He is long suffering in His judgement to hold back this long."

And let's not forget the kind of insurance that will debut in 2014 -- "nosurance"

Posted by Callmelennie at November 14, 2013 5:52 AM

how can the young sign on? the jobs are disappearing fast.

Posted by pdwalker at November 14, 2013 7:11 AM

pdwalker - They're not. Going on medicaid.

I like the deliberately ungrammatical "do you got insurance" dot com.

Because it's cool to be ungrammatical- it shows you're, you know- all streetwise, and stuff. All the bro's use bad grammar. And it shows us that government mandated insurance is not really a totalitarian and intrusive over-reach of the federal government, but rather something that's, like the coolest thing since Occupy Wall Street! Can you dig it?

I have been on travel, and watching this fiasco unfold from afar. It's beginning to remind me of an oh-so-common failed commercial product introduction. A wealthy big business brings out a new product/service to great fanfare and hope, a product that everybody thinks they want and would buy if they could just get it.

But the word from the early adopters is so bad, that the product is never able to recover. The big business brings in all sorts of quick fixers, and comes out with a hurried revamp, but it's too late, the market has already passed them by (even if both they and the market don't realize it yet). If they are stupid and don't pull the plug quickly, they'll limp along, bleeding red ink, keep introducing changes and version 2.0 and 3.0, and nobody will care. Because everybody will consider it an old embarrassing product they wouldn't be caught dead with. The marketplace will have learned from the debacle, and leaner faster hungrier competitors will bring out different products, sometimes quite different, that everyone will use.

This happens all the time in business. This is normal. But this is the first time for the FedGov. They're too big, too unwieldly, and don't have the decision-making structure to pull the plug and stop the bleeding.

Basically, FedGov should never, ever ever, be in the business of providing a commercial product or service. It can't do it. It just can't.

It may take some time, but it looks to me that ACA will die with a whimper, leaving behind a staggering amount of capital flushed down the toilet.
-----
I wrote that yesterday, and today my alarm went off.

They say history doesn't repeat, but it rhymes. I think this is more than that, something new. So new the Usurper and his gang of Chicago mediocrities aren't aware it's happening to them.

This is probably the first time in our history our government has attempted to introduce a product in direct competition with existing commercial ones. And to make it a success, the progros in their blind lust have co-opted the regulatory apparats to suborn all competition. They have created a fog of lies to hide the coercive underpinnings and economic reality of forcing healthy people to pay for unlimited treatment of sick people. The speed of people's decisions are much faster now. Once the early adopters say it sucks, the product is dead. It's been marketed as a commercial product, cute and cuddly. When they find out that underneath its a zombie vampire, it's pitchforks time.

The healthy people won't sign up, and the government will have the devil of a time collecting the nominal “fine” (erm, “tax”, thanks to the fantasy of John Roberts, the only Republican to vote for the ACA). If the fine had been set to the level necessary for all the “genetic winners” to pay for the health care for all the current sickies, the Tea Party revolt of 2010 would have been much larger.

(I'm sorry, but health care is just one of those things. Nobody gets out of here alive, and everybody gets their personalized lifetime bag of crap. The only thing that matters is what to do with the time you've been given. So quit whining for somebody to pay your doctor bills, and make the best of what you've got. Deep down, we all know this, it's just that some people think they deserve better than they got or are ever gonna get.)

To achieve their “Four Freedoms” fantasy, the progros had to become stone-cold bald-faced liars. In today's speedy world lies about a new product turbocharge its demise. ACA is dead and they don't even realize it.

The real danger, is the Usurper and his deluded minions have blown up the government. One of the two or three “you had one job”s of a republican government is to provide a stable legal framework so commerce can flourish. Good gods, in the insurance market the legal chaos is growing every day and accelerating. Come January 1st, bills won't be paid, providers will start refusing service and demanding cash up front, insurers will quit processing claims and writing policies, and all the liv's will go into shock over that $10,000 deductible that they can't pay, but still expect treatment. As Washington State did today, the several States will start contravening the Usurper's impotent and lawless demands. The insurance companies will just shut down and refuse to pay until it all gets sorted out. We may very well see pitchforks by spring. Real physical chaos, of a kind we've never seen before.

The Usurper has zero capability to foresee, realize, manage, forestall, correct, any of this. He and VJ the failed slumlord haven't got jack. He can blow it up, but he can't restore it. If you don't see this, if it's not blindingly obvious, then there's no hope for you.

Victor Davis Hanson has been warning us for five years now that with hubris, comes Nemesis. And we've been impatiently wondering when the heck Nemesis would show up and start retributing on the Usurper. So this was my big insight today. Nemesis is finally coming, but not just for the Usurper. For all of us.

The progros are not going to let go of this. They had it, it was finally in their grasp, Their Precious Four Freedoms. They will let it all burn before they back down. And they know (and you also) they have a savior.

“Empty your heads, we've only got one shot at this.” “The choice is made!” “Whoa!” “The Savior has come.” “Whoa, nobody has choosed anything!” “Look!” No, it can't be!” What is it? “No, it can't be, it can't be!” “What did you do, Ray?” “It's the Stay-Puft Republican man.”
