They Know

My brother, whom I love dearly, succumbed to the Obama allure. He has probably awakened, as I see him avoiding the news he used to eagerly consume

I continue to pray for him, as it has been an uncomfortable few years, avoiding any political discourse (he became mean for the first time ever).

Politics has always been important to both of us and it hurt as I saw him slip away.

I don't think the majority of them will ever admit any error because they are too invested in the ideas that got them to this point.

Freedom comes only from seeing the ignorance of your critics and discovering the emptiness of their virtue. David Seabury

as quoted in Harry Browne's "How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World". What serendipity that I just read that today.

Yet, Hillary Clinton will be elected President in 2016.

It is as inevitable as the Sunrise tomorrow. Who can stop her, really? She is to be annointed by the Media and the unthinking and insistent will believe that only Hillary! is the remedy or fix for Barry Soetoro Obama's shortcomings. And perhaps, in a show of "unity", John McCain will be her running mate for the first term.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

A deep, deep, deep, HOMERUN!

They now yearn for Hillary....ohhhh sweet momma-of-Benghazi.

The majority of the progressives were simply dupes and useful idiots whose naivete was masterfully manipulated by experts to make them imagine themselves as deep original thinkers even as they mechanistically twitched in the lockstep of their grotesque dance, even as the original puppeteer Karl Marx, is now long dead.

That beautiful siren song of the now socialist-DemoKKKrat party, that promised them soooo much must have been so hard to resist, and that horse that they hitched their wagon to looked so strong and beautiful, even as now decades later they are stuck in the middle of the scorching desert tethered to a rotting carcass of a skinny nag with a swarm of flies around it, and the ransacked 0-Kare civilization they left us, is so very far away beyond the horizon.

All hail! 0bamadias!

From Sun Tzu, Chapter 7:
36. When you surround an army, leave an outlet free.
[This does not mean that the enemy is to be allowed to escape. The object, as Tu Mu puts it, is "to make him believe that there is a road to safety, and thus prevent his fighting with the courage of despair." Tu Mu adds pleasantly: "After that, you may crush him."]

I'll try to make allowances for some of these types, but they might want to make an allowance for me. I've been wide awake during a nightmare for going on six years now, if one includes the pre-election "uh-oh" period, when Obama started dominating the news cycle.

What is always the most galling is that I will have to be nice to "moderates", or "independents", those wishy-washy, fence-sitting, split-the-difference, unthinking, unprincipled, conflict-avoiding, bandwagon riding automatons. We can't all just get along, this is not a time for just getting along.

Some people can look at Obama and not have the hairs on the back of their neck stand up, hard as that is to believe.

Posted by Mike James at December 17, 2013 8:06 AM

Will, you - and we - are all screwed. There is - thanks to the likes of those you list - no more hope, for any of us. I hope you point this out to them every day.

Posted by Roscoe at December 17, 2013 9:47 AM

They *might* admit that Obama has been a mistake, but dollars to donuts they'll still pull the lever, push the button, tap on the screen for the "D" candidate.
"He was sabotaged at every turn by the Rethuglican Party, which wanted him to fail from the get-go." "If only he had gone farther..."

To believe different is, IMO, basing ones' plans on 'hoping things happen'.

A certain percentage of voters, those on the plantation, working in government jobs, employed as teachers, police or firemen, will not change in the least. The golden goose must literally die before they'd consider that. The pay and benefits are too lucrative to leave for the private sector, even as the tax base erodes, and more and more are unemployed. Ride that ship all the way to the bottom of Davy Jones' locker.
I had thought there would be enough to throw out all the D's who had brought this maisma and malaise upon us, but have revised my thinking. The above listed few, along with the newly arrived, legal or not, in addition to the melanin enhanced jobless, and melanin lacking jobless, may be enough to secure the re-election of the same crew that brought us to this situation.
The "Obamaphone", "Obama's stash" voters will still turn out for the city machines across the country.
All the cities destroyed or in the process of being destroyed will continue to be governed(HA! ruled or milked) by Democrat machines that will kick the economic can(bomb) down the road, continue to increase pensions and perks, pay off their supporters, and reward crony politics. It is in their blood, and is not curable. It is all they know. It worked in the past, so why won't it work in the future?
It will take more crap sammiches, or maybe a lack of sammiches altogether before there will be any thought of waking up, and questioning their previous choices.

Takes a lot of pain before some will admit their error, and some never will.

I appreciate reading your essay and the thoughtful comments it generated.

Even though I see, I still am able to be shocked anew at Golem's and his enablers' actions and priorities.

I don't know what to do with friends and loved ones who don't or refuse to "know".... That they would be harmed, paralyzes a person.

A war is coming and we must choose.
There is no suburb, city or state to run to and create a bubble in which to live.

From the Poseidon Adventure, when Gene Hackman's character encounters a group of "survivors" heading down toward the bow of the capsized ship:

I don't have to. We're going forward.

Please, come with us, Reverend.

You're going the wrong way, damn it!

We lost Acres.

In the shaft. He fell.

Gunn's poetry aside, I'm still after all this time, not seeing where anybody gets off really thinking that there is going to be a "war".

What, any of you really think that the underclass, the bobo's, and other assorted debris of leftist politics are numerous enough, smart enough, or organized enough to actually have a war?

Really?

@Eric Blair.
You should broaden your sense of *war*.
This ain't the 1860's any more.
The war is ongoing as I type.

@ghostsniper (Ghostsniper? C'mon, I was a fucking sniper in the Army at one point and nobody used nicknames like that.)

And if you are going call everything war, then it has been going on since at least the reformation.

Posted by Eric Blair at December 19, 2013 6:34 PM

Brilliant. Yes. They know. But for they who now know, whats worse is that the others, meaning us, were right. So they will go on pretending not to know. We have a very big problem.

A thousand thoughts are pent up all trying to speak at once to explain our heart-felt enigma. But, citizen, it is no mystery: demographics is politics. And while we were not expecting an Obama wake-up this soon his election was not random.

Yes, Virginia, civilizations do clash in war, and not just internationally.

Hey folks, please wake up and realize that the war, or at least the most important battles, will be lost for at least the next 20 years. From the 1st grade through graduate school, in the social studies, psychology, political science, education, history ... our children are being sabotaged with anti-human ideologies as our republican democratic government sinks more deeply into neo-Communist/Islamist tyranny.
If we don't pull up the roots of the rot and change the environment in which young minds need to blossom, we will pointlessly bitch, moan, and groan.
The saboteurs, quislings, traitors have been organizing and acting for the past 50 years, in the USA. Our culture has been poisoned. Other than the Tea Party stalwarts, where are we organizing for the multiplicity of necessary changes for survival, much less thrival. We don't need neologisms, we need more of the ancient efforts, ideas, values, that used to refer to honor and nobility and ethics and morality.

Cripes! I'm still striving to get my closest relatives to wake up. Shame on me for my ineffectiveness.

One reason blacks are always upset is that they wake up in the morning and realize they are still black! Obama didn't change anything for them, if they can't progress with Obama who can they progress with. 85 IQ will remain 85 for a long time to come. Alex

I'm not sure what a supporting base of hard-core leftists, fellow-traveling/low information/delusional liberals, propagandists in universities, and the dependent class has to do with ITs power, anymore. Were they to turn into conservatives, nothing would change.

Its will is carried out by overlapping bureaucracies whose laws and regulations and coercive force constrain our field of action and use our money to increase their power and reach.

As Gerard has written about the Islamists, only fire will do the job.

Sometimes a punch in the face just isn't enough.
While the image may enter the eyes, it is the mind that does the seeing and sometimes it is blinded by a lack of reason. Children see the lion and recognize a kitty but grown ups look at the lion and see death.

Posted by ghostsniper at December 3, 2014 6:50 PM

Beautifully stated as always.. but are you even allowed to THINK like this in California?

Posted by Jake in Seattle at December 3, 2014 9:02 PM

Smart essay notwithstanding, I don't see more than a handful of Obama supporters ever lessening their faith in Leftist or dictatorship. Every day they will be seeking and finding complicated explanations that promise their views are still right no matter what facts are obvious. Half of our side still passionately believe we can surrender our way to victory if only we find a man like Romney, but more so.

Very few addicts hit bottom and reform. The cult of Leftist is more likely to create some mass murder suicide event than to whither away due to facts.

Gerard, this is why I have been perfectly content to not be so engaged in the daily discussions and avoid most tee vee news. I've been saying for a long, long time that the left contains the seeds of their own destruction. It's no use the right going after them -- it won't work. They are doing a much better job of tearing themselves apart without anyone's help.

I do sorta miss, however, those sometimes friends who will never admit they were wrong. Just a little. I'm not a gloater, but I know my presence, alone, is too much for them -- seeing's how they are the ones with the 5th, 6th and 7th years of higher ed.

"....I know of no emotion we can share...."
===============

Indeed.
These, these, people, have rendered me emotionless as far as they are concerned. If they are to wake they best do it away from me. I have an elephants memory and they are forever shunned and they better leave it at that. Yes, I hold grudges, and am thoughtful of what they would have done if they had been enabled.

I have no pity for them, they chose their choices, and their choice was to be unconvicted criminals of morality. And they did so for silly pride easily attained.

Just go.

Some of the Wrongs innocently self-identified with feelings of altruism, idealism, compassion, and fairness. They did not properly consider probable consequences of their actions based on emotions. We can hold out hope for their education as they experience consequences of the new facts. They may not admit it to others but the stridency of their ignorance will dissolve as their opinions correspond to reality.
Others, the power seekers, will remain twisting facts and applicable contexts until they slip into their anal cranial folds to justify new mayhem. The Rights will need to be vigilant to foil
this crass of Wrongs.

Examine your children's textbooks; the institutional rot is already being taught in grade schools and high schools, in history and social studies classes.
