I'll try to make allowances for some of these types, but they might want to make an allowance for me. I've been wide awake during a nightmare for going on six years now, if one includes the pre-election "uh-oh" period, when Obama started dominating the news cycle.

What is always the most galling is that I will have to be nice to "moderates", or "independents", those wishy-washy, fence-sitting, split-the-difference, unthinking, unprincipled, conflict-avoiding, bandwagon riding automatons. Gerard, this is why I have been perfectly content to not be so engaged in the daily discussions and avoid most tee vee news. I've been saying for a long, long time that the left contains the seeds of their own destruction. It's no use the right going after them -- it won't work. They are doing a much better job of tearing themselves apart without anyone's help.

I do sorta miss, however, those sometimes friends who will never admit they were wrong. Just a little. I'm not a gloater, but I know my presence, alone, is too much for them -- seeing's how they are the ones with the 5th, 6th and 7th years of higher ed.
