US Debt Ceiling Visualized: A trillion here, a trillion there, and pretty soon you're talking about NO MONEY

So you could wipe Uranus with it.

I think it is simply amazing that the politicians think it perfectly 'moral' to borrow so heavily against the future labor of children, and then spend so much money ensuring that more children are not even conceived or born. I can't even imagine the kind of mental gymnastics involved in that kind of insanity. So in the end who is really going to pay this debt back? The elderly? The politicians themselves? Or do we taxpayers get to forfeit our life savings/pensions/retirement to repay this monstrosity?

Federal debt is increasing at over 200 million an hour. Every penny of it is allocated to some constituency that devotes all of its skill and effort to defending its little patch of turf.

Regarding paying the debt, is is obvious that nobody is going pay it. The best people can do is to try to protect themselves from the dying beast as it flails about.
