Loose Straps Make Fluffy Tits

uhhh, no. Good try though.

There were cig commercials way back when I was a kid that used that acronym. I am amazed that to this day I know what it stands for. Illustrates the power of marketing on young minds.

The most dangerous thing about that experience was leaving the torch lit while wearing a thin sheet of flammable plastic fed by a forced air supply.

I'll bet he bailed out because one of the early sticks burned down to the filter - that'll make your eyes water.

Some trivia: The drug can be lethal. Extract the nicotine from one cigarette and inject it intravenously and death will occur.

Lucky Strikes used to come in a green pack but during WWII they changed to the one we see now because the military needed the green pigment.

Keep in mind that the tobacco industry is still powerful.
Most people don't know is that each time they buy Post Grape Nuts, they're supporting Philip Morris, one of the largest tobacco companies in the country.
Cigarette companies aren't stupid. As America learns to kick the habit, they've moved to diversify. Food and alcohol aside, Saks Fifth Avenue, Marshall Field's, Ivey's, Peoples Drug stores, Swingline staplers, Jergens lotion, Loews hotels and theaters, Regal china, Bulova watches, and Yardley cosmetics are just a few of the products or businesses affiliated with the cigarette sellers.

My favorite excuse from a smoker was "they had an ad with a doctor saying smoking was good for you." Yeah, in the 1950s, 40-50-60 years ago. The only thing you learned on the subject was from a commercial 60 years ago and you stopped listening to EVERYTHING since?

The Camel guy looks like he's been prepped for throat cancer surgery.

I used to smoke Camels, unfiltered and they were a really good smoke. I quit 30 years ago but still miss a good puff. LSMFT - Loose sweaters mean flabby teats. When I reach 80 I'm going to start smoking again and maybe even take a bit of Heroin.

Yo, trip: Lucky Strikes Mean Fine Tobacco.

My Uncle Tom, born around 1885, was a Luckies smoker. When I asked him what the LS/MFT meant, he told me that stood for Lord, Save Me From Truman.

Rob, good 'un. Sounds better than the one I put up. IIRC there are a bunch of acronyms for cars too. Fiat = fix it again Tony; Ford = fix or repair daily, so forth.

There's one for Pontiac as well but, ahem, a bit incorrect for the sensitive New Age touchy-feely rainbow people Gerard has for readers; I wouldn't want to curdle their grande decaf-cinnamon dolce no foam soy lattes. Made from organic free-range beans picked by third world fat mulatto trans-gendered cripples, haw haw.

You know the Secret service used "Pontiac" for Jesse Jackson's call sign when he ran for President. I remember reading this in TIME magazine I don't know when. I think in 1984. I got it immediately then, and had to wonder that the reporter didn't understand.

Now, back to cigarettes. This is how you make smoking dope unfashionable. The same with any of the currently illegal drugs. Make them legal and let corporations sell them.

Then it will be uncool to use the stuff.

This post fits my T Zone.

chasmatic, I had known that several brands were owned by Philip Morris. However, I don't have a problem with that, as I'd rather they had an out rather than having one product that they'll die with their backs to the wall to defend.

Had you heard that a number of tobacco farmers have discovered a higher-paying crop? Chickpeas. Apparently hummus is gaining in popularity pretty quickly, and there's a definite need. I consider that a good thing.

I remeber the neighbors Straight Eight Pontiac convertible in the mid '50s with the rows of chrome strips going from the grill in front to the rear bumper. It had the growling differential they all seemed to be plagued with. He was a WWII navigator in a B-24 and married Lois Moneypenny from England. He had a bald spot that he claimed was where the sun shined through, and a true nice guy.
Now. What does Pontiac have to do with Jackson?
Wide Track? Wide Stance?{heh} I doan geddit.
