Good Friday: "You say I am repeating something I have said before. I shall say it again."

This must be you, again.

God bless your mind, and your art, and the sharing thereof.

What depth of love brought Jesus to that cross!
How wonderful the kindness that gave Him strength to bear those terrible wounds!
How faithful the heart that opened itself up to wash all humanity clean with sinless blood!
It is the greatest wonder of my life, that Jesus chose to die for me, unworthy man, yet healed and made new in His blessed sacrifice. And I thank Him and praise His Holy Name each day for that wonderful love, the love that brought Him to that cross...

Oh, there is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel's veins.
And sinners plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stain!

And still the fountain is full, and still the River of Grace flows, unending and eternal...

I can only pile on after the words of Gerard, Rob and Kurt. YES! Our souls are washed clean by His blood. A perfect and blameless sacrifice. My soul washed so white, I am sure it would burn my eyes.

"You say I am repeating something I have said before. I shall say it again..."

I have read this poem several times over the last couple of days. I get a sense of quiet awe in these two lines. They touch the doors of God's own patience, and the forbearance of Christ. They put a lump in my throat, and make my stomach fall.
