Bill Whittle: Gaslighting

Good points but let's please remember it was actress INGRID Bergman who endured the gas lighting, not the Swedish director of almost the same name.

OK, but…this and $1.50 will get ya’ a cup of joe. Mr. Whittle, who I like, is pointing out the obvious, preaching to the choir…yada, yada…

Are we suppose to share this with those that still don’t get it? Those 60% of Dem’s who are still clinging to their Rope a Dope of Hope n’ some measly Change? A 1930, or whatever, movie analogy is what will wake them up? Those that ignored the stagnant economy, billions of wasted “stimulus“, the IRS harassment,
ObamaDon’tCareAct fiasco, the death of an ambassador and the myriad of other cases of lack of ability and just plain incompetence, and this will wake them up?

No , thanks. I’ve got some rust to paint, some pigs to wash and a hole to drill in my skull.

Great catch, Ralph. Fixed here but not at the original.

I listened to Pres. Obama for about 2 weeks when he first came into office. I noticed he or the WH would say one thing, and then the very next day some news report would report that the exact opposite policy was put into place, or action taken. You get the idea. I think he called it a "head fake."

Gaslighting takes it to the next level. I quit listening to Obama after those first 2 weeks.

I heard senator oshithead speak on TV back about 2002 or so, something to do with 9-11, and right then I pegged him as an asswipe. When he was nominated for prez I was grief stricken, and still am.

Yes, there are plenty of people that refuse to believe the obvious for various reasons, mostly for self gain.

But there are also lot's of people that simply don't know what to do and are either waiting for instruction(s) or direction, or for the last shoe to hit the floor. I'm sort of in this group, except I am not waiting for direction.

We usta call it: "Pissing down my neck and telling me it's raining." in the Army.

"Who ya gonna believe? Me or your lying eyes?" Sure, we'll let you vote, but first we're gonna murder thought and wreck information. What will your fancy votes be worth then?

This is Cloward-Piven, but applied not to political institutions but to the most fundamental of institutions: language and rationality.

What tim said. I'll pass on drilling a hole in my skull for now, but will consider it later on, such as if-and-when the brain-damaged Hildabeast becomes Prez.

'Gaslighting' psychobabble is used by many interest groups, mainly feminists, to falsely accuse husbands and partners of abuse.

In the movie Bergman is a sympathetic but dopey character - if she is the standard we use for human capacity of self-reliance we are in trouble.

Sorry to see that Mr. Whittle has gone down that rabbit hole.

Of course that is only th tip of the iceberg. and the lies are so outrageous tha they beggar belief. So, I like this, calling out the lies and labeling them as gas lighting. It was the funny label "tea party" which helped to coalesce the conservative movement.
