Something Wonderful: ”If you want to change the world....” Ten Lessons from Seals Training

Gerard,

Thanks for posting that very inspiring address.
My daughter will be a senior in high-school next year and I have a folder where I save what I think are good things for her to read later on. This address just made that folder.
I hope on Memorial Day, everyone at least took some time to say a prayer of thanks for all of the men, and women, who gave us "that last full measure of devotion" so that we might be free.

That's not navy talk, it's military talk,
It was called a rack in the army too, and I still call it that to this day some 40 years later.

The Admiral is one of the elite among fighting men. Only a small percentage of warriors make it through the training. What he is talking about is how to compete in a meritocracy. It's the only thing he ever did and his advice is good. However, the students he's addressing have, for the most part, been told to tone down the competition, go along to get along, and be careful not to hurt anyone's feelings by superior performance. Do they get his message? Well, maybe. It's amazing that such an address is still allowed on our PC campuses. Kudos for the university for inviting him.

Wish he was our leader, commander in chief. Inspiring. More speeches like these please for our youth. Thanks for posting.
