Recessional
BY RUDYARD KIPLING

God of our fathers, known of old,
Lord of our far-flung battle-line,
Beneath whose awful Hand we hold
Dominion over palm and pine—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!
The tumult and the shouting dies;
The Captains and the Kings depart:
Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice,
An humble and a contrite heart.
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!
Far-called, our navies melt away;
On dune and headland sinks the fire:
Lo, all our pomp of yesterday
Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!
Judge of the Nations, spare us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!
If, drunk with sight of power, we loose
Wild tongues that have not Thee in awe,
Such boastings as the Gentiles use,
Or lesser breeds without the Law—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!
For heathen heart that puts her trust
In reeking tube and iron shard,
All valiant dust that builds on dust,
And guarding, calls not Thee to guard,
For frantic boast and foolish word—
Thy mercy on Thy People, Lord!
Thank you Mr. Sensing.

The menu would improve if DC had to eat the same slop the rest of the country does.
A whole lot of things would be different if the lawmakers and politicians had to follow the same laws we peasants do.
Get the same Social Security, medical care, retirement restrictions, so forth. All the freebies the leaders get when they get out of office.
First thing they should do away with is the bodyguards. We'd see some better behavior overnight — well from those still alive.
Did anyone else think Jessep was the good guy in that movie?
Posted by BradnSA at June 25, 2014 10:23 AMNo.
Posted by ghostsniper at June 25, 2014 11:40 AMWhy is it them boys are in CAR again? That sure smells like quagmire if ever there was one. Particularly since their enemy is also the CIC.
Posted by Will at June 25, 2014 12:05 PMI think Pelosi and McConnell were tripping in that video.

Yes, if the choice is Tom Cruise. But John Ford ain't making movies no more.
