Your nice liberal friends demanded Great Society solutions, and they still demand them. They may notice some of the problems they created, but they haven't given up of the idea of "fixing" problems by paying people and writing more laws. To their last breath they will conclude it could have worked had the usual suspects not stopped them from implementing Utopia at the speed and totality they wanted.
When you treat those "nice" people as innocent bystanders or naive you are helping them to remain in their error. If you treat evil as nice you will eventually treat nice as evil.

Just another plantation that the liberals can take their kids to on the weekend, like a theme park, and say, "See how good we are to the oppressed peoples of the world."
No Simon, all the meas culpa cannot make up for the damage done. The after effects linger on and on and on.

Look at me, I was once a communist bully, so no one can question my credentials! I have evolved! You who were never communist bullies lack the intellect that is necessary to overcome myself! My heart was in the right place (have you heard this one before?) when I was a communist bully, trying to overcome que sera sera people like you. I still care more than you do because that's just the way I am!
Mussolini evolved from Bolshevik to Communist to Socialist to Fascist, as if there is a difference. Jewish communists evolve from communist straight to neocon, as if there is a difference. Better that they don't evolve.
